The Fear of the Lord

Awe and Reverence of God.
We were over in the building next door, and Harold Eberle was with us.
He asked us if we wanted to know God more and wanted more of Him.
He had us close our eyes and groan and plea for more of God.
I remember crying out for more of God. I remember saying this has been the cry of my heart and this is the moment I am making my longings known to God in a clear way.
He showed up in a way I began to feel one other time in my life but not this much. I could feel a better glimpse of who He was and His love and greatness.
I finally had to say, “no more, I cant handle any more.”
I have had two other moments that I felt the fear of the Lord like that.
All three of those moments there is an awareness of how little we are and how big He is.
How glorious He is and how much we matter to Him.
The fear of the Lord humbles you and calls you higher at the same time.
Matthew 10:24–39 (NASB95)
24 “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a slave above his master.
25 “It is enough for the disciple that he become like his teacher, and the slave like his master. If they have called the head of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign the members of his household!
26 Therefore do not fear them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.
27 “What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim upon the housetops.
28 Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
29 “Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.
30 “But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.
32 “Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven.
39 “He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it.
Fear not and then Jesus says fear.

Fear does motivate people to become more like God from the outside perspective.
Many religions have millions of people who do great things to have a chance to go to heaven.
Many religions have millions of people who do awful things to have a chance to go to heaven.
All are motivated by fear of death or rath.
What is the purpose of the fear of the Lord?
To comfort those who morn.
To bring you into (God) Light, Fire, Spirit and Love, and disconnect you from darkness, cold, flesh and fear.
God is Light, Fire, Spirit and Love
