Never Too Late

How to extend your impact beyond what is expected… by you, by others.
It’s never too late to see revival in your life, in your world. But…there is a price.
What does revival look like?
Revelation 3:14–22 (ESV)
To the Church in Laodicea
14 “And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: ‘The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God’s creation.
15 “ ‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! 16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. 17 For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see. 19 Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. 21 The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’ ”

The Last chance-Repent before it’s too late!
Lukewarm Defined:
Neither hot or cold
Apathetic
Unmotivated
Content in a place of half-hearted
Lacking passion or zeal.
Lacking dedication or devotion
What might be keeping you lukewarm?
Resist encouragement or exhortation
Attack those who seek to spur you on
Believe you’re just fine because you’re doing God’s work with what you are already doing, especially compared to others around you.
Too busy to do more.
You’re doing enough, you’ve got to stay balanced.
God wants you to enjoy the things of this world He created and you can’t if you’re always doing things with God for others.
God doesn’t expect you to be zealous, that’s not your personality.
God doesn’t expect you to do everything for Him. Are you going to eat coco puffs for Jesus!?!? Play video games for Jesus!?!?
We don’t have to think about God all the time. We should think about ourselves and try to do things that we enjoy as well as things God wants.
It shouldn’t be hectic to follow Jesus. If I can fit it in without doing too much, I’ll do it, but I don’t want to be tired all the time.
I support pastors and missionaries. I’m not really gifted in ministry or evangelism.
I’m just not outgoing. I’m an introvert.
I’m not good at singing or speaking. But I enjoy it when others do it well. Just don’t ask me to do either in front of anyone.
I like the Bible in all, but it’s not like you have to read it every day or more than once a day.
The Bible is good to have around. I listen to it every morning on the way to work. But it’s not like I’m going to study it every day like a pastor.
I’m not good at memorizing. I just can’t do it.
I don’t like being around people for long periods of time, especially starting new relationships with people I don’t already know.
My gift is getting things done, I’m not really a people person. I think God made us all different, so not all of us have to be good at dealing with people.
I like my sports, my shows, my games, my hobbies, my outdoors, my social media… I can still serve God when I have time, it’s not like God is calling us to give up everything.
Holiness means being a good person. No one is perfect. We don’t have to be perfect, everyone has struggles in some area. Why get so uptight over flaws and issues we all have.
For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked
Rich…. what riches is God talking about that are not eternal?
what prosperity?
need nothing?
wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked.
Spiritually, eternally, depths of gratitude with God and others being saved up for heaven
2 Peter 1:3–11 (NIV84)
Making One’s Calling and Election Sure
3 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.
10 Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall, 11 and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
A rich welcome… many coming to greet you because of what you did in love for them…praying, serving, sharing, giving, being with, suffering for, etc.
LAST CHANCE…. repent!

Discover & Do Together….
Everyone will get to the end of their life one day and it will all be over. Then what happens next won’t be possible to change. Jesus gave a message to His church, to His children to help them make a lifestyle change before it’s too late. What is He telling you right now and who can journey with you to course-correct before it’s too late?
Use the questions below to as a discovery tool you can apply to any Scripture you are reading as a means to obey what Jesus is teaching you and for passing it on to others as the normal “stay hot” pattern.
1. Lord, what are You showing me about Yourself from this Scripture?
2. Father, what are You showing me about myself/humans from this teaching/story?
3. God, are there any commands to obey or examples to follow/not to follow in what You’ve spoken here? If so, what is something You want me to do this week to obey? I’ll share it with _________ and pray together for victory.
4. Who is one person that You, King Jesus, wants me to share this passage with this week? ___________ 2 Timothy 2:2 “and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.” (Four generations is the goal!)
5. Who is one person I can begin walking with weekly to help me keep hot with passion for God and His kingdom? _______

Matthew 9:35–38 “And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.””
