Sometimes People are straightforward and disagree with the Bible but call themselves Christians (TJ)
Sometimes people see truth as whatever is true for them and not what is actually true
Commitment to the Bible
Everyone here needs to agree that if we study the Bible and find that the church has stretched the Bible to condemn LGBTQ then we should affirm the movement
Creation
Creation
27 And God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
There are two genders created by God
God is an awesome creator
24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother, and cleave to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.
This is the design of marriage
Between a biological man and woman
You do not need a verse in the Bible to condemn the LGBTQ movement. You just need to have one that describes what marriage is.
DRIVER’S LICENSE: When you take your test, do you ask the person grading your test, hi I know you said to stay on the street but can I go on the sidewalk, or can I hit a house, or hit a person, or hit a dog? You know what stay on the road means.
Command of the Law
Command of the Law
Lev. 18:22, 20:13
Both passages use the word abomination to apply to homosexuality
Questions of the Law
Do the commands of the law apply to believers today?
Sometimes, we are looking for New Testament clarification
New Testament
New Testament
26 For this reason God gave them over to dishonorable passions; for their females exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural,
27 and in the same way also the males abandoned the natural function of the female and burned in their desire toward one another, males with males committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
What does this teach about LGBTQ+
Dishonorable
Unnatural
Will be punished by God
As a punishment in itself
9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,
10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.
What does this teach about LGBTQ+
It is impossible to be a true Christian is you are unrepentant LGBTQ+
9 knowing this, that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and godless, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers,
10 for sexually immoral persons, for homosexuals, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching,
What does this teach about LGBTQ+
Unrighteous
Law?
Points towards Lev. 18:22, word for homosexual is very similar to lev. verse
Social Questions
Social Questions
How do you handle social pressure or being called homophobic?
Realize that people who call you this either reject God directly or are “Christians” who reject the Bible
Don’t let people manipulate you into denying the Bible
How should you act toward someone who is LGBTQ+?
Always with kindness and love, they are people made in the image of God
Seek to be friendly, show the love of God toward them
Never in a way that affirms their lifestyle
It is unkind and cruel to to anything that would affirm them in their choice to inflict the wrath of God upon themselves
What is you are struggling with LGBTQ temptation?
It is completely normal to struggle with the sin of your society, and many Christians today struggle with this.
God is gracious and forgiving
Do not tell yourself that this is who you are
Understand that if you are someone who just says, I’m a gay Christian, you are lying to yourself, and the love is love agenda that you have been telling yourself will not help the pain that you will experience after you die
True believers change
