When I was 12, my ONE WISH for God - A playstation 2. I told him, Lord if i get this PS2 - das it! i’ll be happy! This is my first console ever, my friends have had pokemon and nintendo, i’ve never had one, if i get this i’ll be happy forever.

For Christmas I got my PS2!!! One of my core-life memories.

Thanks for the PS2 but I just have ONE MORE WISH LORD … Please give me good marks at school - I really want to make it into UNI!!! I heard once you get there, life is set … but getting in is the hardest part. Please Lord, if you get me in there, I’ll be set - you won’t have to worry about me …

After 5 years of uni, I had one more of those wishes - LORD … please all i need rn is a grad job. If you give me a grad job i’ll be happy. I’ve applied to literally all of them, all i need is one of them to bite!!!

I get a new Job … LORD THEY’RE NOT PAYING ME ENOUGH, ONCE I GET THIS I’LL BE SET

You get where I’m going … If there’s one thing i know … We’re always gonna have needs, but especially that ‘ONE NEED!!!’

For me, I used that, as a test for God - if you don’t give me this, are you even with me?? do you even care for me???

At this point in Exodus , God has fulfillled need after need after need for the Israelites, but it seems like … they continue to grumble

We wonder - “you can take Israel out of Egypt, but can you take the Egypt out of Israel????”
