John 20:19 KJV 1900

19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

1. Jesus in the midst of the fire He is always with us even in times of trouble

Daniel 3:25 “25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”

Luke 2:46 “46 And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.”

Luke 2:47 “47 And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.”

Where we find Jesus

We find Him in a particular place in the Bible - Central theme of the Bible all throughout we see Jesus

We find Him in a peculiar place in the Bible - No one else can take it

We find Him in the pre-eminent place in the Bible - He is the central figure - central fact - and the central force

3. He is in the midst on the cross for the ungodly

CHRIST IN THE MIDST OF DYING LAW-BREAKERS

John 19:18 “18 Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.”

He is exhibiting God’s love for sinful man

He is executing God’s salvation for the ungodly

He is exhausting(taking) God’s wrath

He is exercising His prerogative - putting away sin

He is enduring God’s judgement for sin

4. He is in the Midst in the upper room for the fearful

THE RESURRECTED CHRIST IN THE MIDST OF HIS APOSTLES

Because of present experiences - they might be executed also

They thought He would set up His kingdom

Because of personal difficulties - they knew not what to do

5. CHRIST IN THE MIDST OF ISRAEL

Acts 2:22 “22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

6. He is in the Midst on the throne

CHRIST IN HEAVEN IN THE MIDST OF ELDERS

Revelation 5:6 KJV 1900

6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

Revelation 7:17 KJV 1900

17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

He is rejoicing in all the victories of His grace

He is rejoicing in all the splendor of His Grace, Glory, Government

He is receiving us(all saved by Grace) into His presence for all of eternity

7. He is in the midst for the unsaved - and saved

He is here to fulfill God’s promise “where two or three are gathered Jesus is in the Midst”

Matthew 18:20 “20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

He is here to make His saving Grace Known

He is here in the midst to bless His people

8. CHRIST IN THE MIDST OF HIS CHURCH

Revelation 2:1 “1 Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;”

I am so glad Jesus is with us, right in the middle of it all
