To communicate with your friends, you want to stay in touch with your friends

I HAVE SOME GOOD NEWS FOR YOU THERE IS PERSON WHO WANTS TO TALK TO YOU WHO IS THE CREATOR OF THE WHOLE UNIVERSE

Who is that wants to talk to you?

You do not need a cell phone or any phone

GOD

BUT THE QUESTION IS, HOW DO WE TALK TO GOD…WE DO NOT LITERALLY SEE HIM OR OFTEN LITERALLY HEAR HIS VOICE

THAT IS WHAT JESUS WANTS TO TEACH IN THE HEART OF THE FIRST SERMON HE PREACHES…HE WANTS TO SHOW US HOW TO TALK TO GOD

WHAT DOES JESUS SAY

Matthew 6:5–6 ESV

“And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

IT IS NOT ABOUT PERFORMANCE

Matthew 6:7–8 ESV

“And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

IT IS NOT A MAGICAL FORMUAL

Matthew 6:9 ESV

Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.

Your are talking to your heavenly father
