Jesus Finished His Sermon
He just finished speaking to the people of the narrow door to enter the Kingdom
told the Jews that a lot of them would not enter the Kingdom
the ones who thought they would be first getting into the kingdom
they would be far behind some gentiles who will enter

Jesus the King of Kings is responding to this minor wannabe king

to Jeremiah God says
Now the word of Yahweh came to me saying,
“Before I formed you in the innermost parts I knew you, And before you came out from the womb I set you apart; I have given you as a prophet to the nations.”
is this something special that Yahweh has done for Jeremiah?

gave him a special mission to accomplish
he could not die until this mission was accomplished
even though many tried even the king
John the baptist lived until his mission was over
Harod had him beheaded
his mission was to be the fore runner of Jesus
to get people ready for the kingdom
John the Baptist had followers still when he was in prison
these men and women needed now to follow Jesus
as good as John was he was not the messiah
so when his mission on earth was completed
when the number that God had established before he was born was up
God called him home
God has a mission for every one of us as a citizen of the kingdom

Jerusalem the representative of the land of Israel
Jerusalem where the seat of Government is
Jerusalem where the temple and religious leaders are
Jerusalem where He will give His life for the sins of His people
Jesus is going to the place where most of the prophets were murdered
by the religious people the kings
God had made a covenant with the people to bless them
Deut 28.

the prophets would be sent by Yahweh first to warn the people
then they would prophecy judgement
because the people were going against the Law and God
the prophets was trying to bring the people back to a point of being blessed
but they loved their sin so instead of listening and obeying
instead they would kill the messenger of God

over and over the people of Israel turned away from God
Jesus wanted to bless the nation
but the people were unwilling to obey
Jesus laments over that fact
He loves the nation and wants to bless them instead of cursing them
but they were not willing
so, more cursings will come

your house is the temple which will be destroyed in ad 70

they said these words when jesus rode in on a donkey on palm Sunday
but a few days later they were yelling crucify Him
they were mouthing the words hoping He would feed them
protect them from the Romans
cure all of the illnesses, cast out all the demons
but I don’t need a savior to save me from my sins
I’m good to go there
when is this going to happen?
this saying
it is when Jesus returns on a conquering white stallion
“And I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn.
“In that day there will be great mourning in Jerusalem, like the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the plain of Megiddo.
“And the land will mourn, each family alone; the family of the house of David alone and their wives alone; the family of the house of Nathan alone and their wives alone;
the family of the house of Levi alone and their wives alone; the family of the Shimeites alone and their wives alone;
all the families that remain, each family alone and their wives alone.
“In that day a fountain will be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for impurity.
“And it will be in that day,” declares Yahweh of hosts, “that I will cut off the names of the idols from the land, and they will no longer be remembered; and I will also cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass away from the land.
at that time Israel will be truly God’s people
at that time all of Israel will be saved
at this time they will truly say
Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord
there is one thing I want you to remember
our mission will be done when Jesus takes us home
we don’t need to worry about death
God the Father is in total control of everything
your enemies cannot touch you without the Fathers consent
so keep this in your mind as you fulfill the great commission
