Zeal Without Righteousness (Verses 1-4)

Romans 10:1–4 KJV 1900
Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
Question #1:
Why was Paul praying? Is there a difference between Brethren and Brothers? (Verse 1)
Question #2:
What did Paul witness about Israel toward God? How can V-1 and V-2 help us today? (Verse 2)
Question #3:
How many types of righteousness do you see in V-3? Why do we live by our own righteousness? How can this text help us today? (Verse 3)
Question #4:
How is Christ the end of the law? How can this verse help us today? (Verse 4)

HOW DO WE BECOME JUSTIFIED? (Verses 5-7)

Romans 10:5–7 KJV 1900
For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them. But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
Question #5:
Can you live by the law of Moses and be righteous today? (Verse 5)
Question #6:
According to verses 6 and 7, what are two things righteousness through faith will not do? What is the lesson for us today?

THE WORD OF FAITH MUST BE PREACHED, BELIEVED AND CONFESSED AS RIGHTEOUSNESS UNTO SALVATION. (Verses 8-9)

Romans 10:8–9 ESV
But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Question #7:
In verse 8, Where would the Word like to be? What are two functions of the Word?
Question #8:
What word teaches in v-9 that salvation is a choice? In verse 9, Share the beginning steps toward being saved.
