Answer 3 The Support of the Saints

16 - 17 Do let riches fool you.
18-19 We are resting in God’s Care.
20 The wicked’s end in coming.
21-22 Two different lives and two different destinies.
23-24 God faithfulness for the righteous.
Proverbs 24:16 “16 For a righteous man may fall seven times And rise again, But the wicked shall fall by calamity.”
Summing it up!
Psalm 37:25–26 “25 I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread. 26 He is ever merciful, and lends; And his descendants are blessed.”

Practical Progression — With all of God’s promises and care, How should we respond?

The Seventh Command or Precept from David. The Rest are all in Verses 1-7
Psalm 37:27–29 “27 Depart from evil, and do good; And dwell forevermore. 28 For the Lord loves justice, And does not forsake His saints; They are preserved forever, But the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off. 29 The righteous shall inherit the land, And dwell in it forever.”
Depart from Evil and do good.
We know the Lord. We have promises that if we truly follow and seek Him, He will be found by us.
This should be the nature response for all Christians.
2 Corinthians 6:14–18 -7:1 “14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.” 17 Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” 18 “I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”” … 7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting (Continuing present tense… always perfecting) holiness in the fear of the Lord.
Why?...
Psalm 37:28–29 “28 For the Lord loves justice, And does not forsake His saints; They are preserved forever, But the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off. 29 The righteous shall inherit the land, And dwell in it forever.”
There is an assured end.
Psalm 37:30–31 “30 The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, And his tongue talks of justice. 31 The law of his God is in his heart; None of his steps shall slide.”
Proverbs 1:7 “7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
Psalm 19:7–11 “7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; 8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; 9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11 Moreover by them Your servant is warned, And in keeping them there is great reward.”
Psalm 37:32–33 “32 The wicked watches the righteous, And seeks to slay him. 33 The Lord will not leave him in his hand, Nor condemn him when he is judged.”
8th Command Psalm 37:34–35 “34 Wait on the Lord, And keep His way, And He shall exalt you to inherit the land; When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it. 35 I have seen the wicked in great power, And spreading himself like a native green tree.”
Psalm 37:36–38 “36 Yet he passed away, and behold, he was no more; Indeed I sought him, but he could not be found. 37 Mark the blameless man, and observe the upright; For the future of that man is peace. 38 But the transgressors shall be destroyed together; The future of the wicked shall be cut off.”

God’s Strong Salvation

Psalm 37:39–40 “39 But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their strength in the time of trouble. 40 And the Lord shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, And save them, Because they trust in Him.”
The Plan comes from God
The implementation
The crucifixion
The individual call to each soul.
The final end is kept by God.
Philippians 1:6 “6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;”
1 Peter 1:3–5 “3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
