We live in a throw away world.
We live in a throw away world.
As soon as something doesn’t work for us we are sometimes quick to throw it away or put in a pile for “some day”.
We want a quick fix.
We want a quick fix.
Similar to this is the “silver bullet” mindset. May I call this is the “Amazon mindset”—meaning we want what we want and we want it now! Amazon pioneered itself with quick shipping.
Our world is looking for solutions.
Our world is looking for solutions.
We have many problems and sometimes we need to look at those but in doing we may forget there are solutions out there to the things which ail our world, our country, our village, our families, our own lives.
Jeremiah 2 serves as an introduction.
Jeremiah 2 serves as an introduction.

Idols then and now.
Idols then and now.
We may be familiar with Baal, Molech, the Greek/Roman Pantheon, Egypts gods and even Babylons. Put what are ours today.

Jesus is our living water.

Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
We try to lay a new foundation of identity.
We try to lay a new foundation of identity.
Politics, independence, national status, sexuality, money, job, etc and etc.
Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.
God says “STOP!!”
God says “STOP!!”
What do you and I need to stop doing or running to today?
Jesus’ arms are open and waiting.
Jesus’ arms are open and waiting.
Consequences of our actions may still take place but we are not forgotten.
Jeremiah 3.12-14; 22-25. More on this tomorrow.
