They Are God’s House

They Enjoy Freedom

2 Corinthians 6:17 ESV

17 Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you,

They are Royalty

2 Corinthians 6:18 ESV

18 and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.”

WE ARE DIFFERENT, SO WE MOVE DIFFERENTLY

2 Corinthians 7:1 ESV

1 Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.

1. Take care of the temple (Us.)

Gossip, shame, guilt, poverty, beef, tension, social health, physical health, make sure we eat the right foods. Use the gift of sex to heal and celebrate and not harm.

In a society that values being an individual and where most of us don’t know our neighbor’s name - -we yoke ourselves to celebrities that we know their entire family tree (We know Beyonce mamma name, We know Michael Jackson’s Daddy, we know Kendrick Lamar’s fiance). We know Shannon Sharpe’s business. Their philosophies and ways of life are dead. More bible. find a bible reading plan that you can follow. They are dead and dying and you re living. Move in Joy, in Excellence, set apart, season your work with love. Child of God you are bringing heaven with you wherever you go?

3. Move with a different posture

Imagine Us As a Weird Community Loving Our Neighbor, Picking UP His Trash, Investing in His children, Celebrating Each Other’s Victories and Morning Each Other’s Losses. Imagine confrontation, forgiveness, and reconciliation being the air we breathe. Breathe. Imagine us putting our talents and skills together to build new things that beautify the neighborhood, edify the brother and sisterhood, and glorify the Godhead.

Christ moved weirdly. He gave up wealth to become poor, broken, homeless, abused, and was killed by a state-sponsored execution. He did it for love. He did it for joy. Because He did this for US, we can be like him.
