Malachi Synopsis: Malachi addresses the spiritual apathy and moral decay of the post-exilic community. He calls the people to faithfulness in worship, tithing, and moral living, and he foretells the coming of Elijah before the "great and dreadful day of the Lord." Key Teaching Point: Genuine worship and faithful living are essential in our relationship with God. God calls for sincerity and devotion, and He promises to send a messenger to prepare the way for the Messiah.

Ironclad guarantee: An ironclad guarantee can't be broken or taken back.
Some things need to change but some need to stay the same.
In 1985 Coca-Cola had been losing market share to Pepsi in what was known as the "Cola Wars." Pepsi’s sweeter taste was gaining traction, especially among younger consumers. After New Coke’s release, Coca-Cola's market share dropped by 1-2%, which might seem small, but in the highly competitive soda market, this represented a significant loss.
Financial Impact: Coca-Cola spent millions on developing and marketing New Coke, but it was pulled from shelves just 79 days after its release due to public outcry.
In the three months after the launch, Coca-Cola received more than 400,000 complaints and experienced a notable decline in sales.
Some estimates suggest that Coca-Cola's losses during the New Coke debacle amounted to around $30 million in unsold product and advertising costs.
Culture has changed, look in the mirror (new wrinkle) our bodies are changing, popular music changes, hairstyles and clothing styles change (then come back) and change again.
Malachi 3:6 NIV
6 “I the Lord do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed.
Explain that God’s covenant with Israel was based on His grace and love, not their performance.
The Immutability of God refers to the theological concept that God is unchanging in His nature, character, will, and promises. This means that God does not change over time—He is always consistent in His attributes such as love, justice, wisdom, and power. His plans and purposes remain constant, and He is not subject to the fluctuations of time, emotions, or external circumstances. This immutability reassures believers that they can trust God fully, as He is eternally reliable, faithful, and steadfast.
There are a lot of things that need to change but one thing will always be the same. God and His word.
2 Timothy 3:16 NIV
16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
I heard one preacher years ago say if God said it that settles it.
This makes it easier for me. I am simple. Tell me the rules of the game and don’t change them.
Have you ever played a game and someone changes the rules of the game? Sometimes families make up their own rules to games. (Monopoly / Free parking)

Lamentations 3:22–23 NIV
22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
His compassion and love never changes. Some of us grew up in homes with conditional love. The amount of love shown to us could change day by day.
Did you mess up yesterday? Well today is a new day. His compassion for you is new.
Unlike people, God’s promises never fail.

Politicians - do this all the time. They will say whatever they have to say to win.

Hebrews 6:16–17 NIV
16 People swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all argument. 17 Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath.
Unchanging nature
Were are taught not to I swear to God on a oath. But God can because their is no one greater than himself.

It is impossible for God to lie
What if ppl all of a sudden could not lie. (movie Liar, liar with Jim Carey)
I think somebody here needs to be encouraged that God's faithfulness to you is not dependent on your faithfulness to him.
Hebrews 6:19 NIV
19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,
