Genesis 44:14-45:15

Introduction

Josephs Final Test vs. 14-17

As Joseph prepares the final test he gets the steward of the house to put his silver cup in Benjamins bag. He then sends the steward after the brothers and the steward tells them if he doesn't find the cup in their bag they are free to go but whoever's bag the cup is found will be taken back to Joseph to be his slave.

The steward finds the cup in Benjamins bag and immediately the brothers rent their clothes loaded up their stuff and headed back to Josephs house

When they get back to Josephs house, they again fall before him on the ground

Joseph asks them 2 questions

What deed have you done?

Don’t you know that I can divine or can pass down judgments?

Judah answers Josephs questions with more questions

What should I say?

how do we clear ourselves?

Joseph gives Benjamins fate

Benjamin is going to be Josephs servant because the cup was found in his bag

Everyone else was free to go back to their father

Judahs plea vs. 18-34

He pleas that Joseph would not release his anger toward Benjamin

Ultimately the fate of Benjamin was in the hand of Joseph

Judah recounts all the events since they arrived the first time in Egypt vs. 19-30

Judahs final plea vs. 31-34

Joseph Reveals himself Gen 45:1-15

Joseph could no longer keep the front going, he saw that his brothers had changed, so he reveals who he is

Joseph tells them about how God used them to preserve the people in the land vs. 5

He tells them they are 2 years in to a 7 year famine

It wasn’t the brothers that sent Joseph here but God

He tells them to go tell JAcob what God was doing through him vs 9-12

He wants them to bring Jacob to Egypt to be with him vs. 13

He embraces benjamin and all the other brothers and after the brothers began to talk again.
