Exodus 18: 21-22

What are the characteristics of a leader
21 But select capable men from all the people—men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain—and appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens. 22 Have them serve as judges for the people at all times, but have them bring every difficult case to you; the simple cases they can decide themselves. That will make your load lighter, because they will share it with you.
The New International Translation (Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan, 2011), Ex 18:21–22.
* Could it be that we put people in leadership roles due to there skill and not their good characteristics?

Judges 6:14-15

Can you go in-spite of who you are
The New International Translation (Chapter 6)
14 The LORD turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?”
15 “Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.
* Are we hesitating to do the will of God because we have a difficult time believing God can use us?

Judges 6:37-40

Sacrifice and seek Gods proof no matter whats before you.
The New International Translation (Chapter 6)
37 look, I will place a wool fleece on the threshing floor. If there is dew only on the fleece and all the ground is dry, then I will know that you will save Israel by my hand, as you said.” 38 And that is what happened. Gideon rose early the next day; he squeezed the fleece and wrung out the dew—a bowlful of water.
39 Then Gideon said to God, “Do not be angry with me. Let me make just one more request. Allow me one more test with the fleece, but this time make the fleece dry and let the ground be covered with dew.” 40 That night God did so. Only the fleece was dry; all the ground was covered with dew.
* Don’t be afraid to ask God question. But if you ask you must have faith to believe he will answer you.
