Pray
Ephesians 2:19–22 “So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.”
I hope you’re all encouraged by the updates you just heard, as well as an introduction of our members.
Size and attendance is never a great indicator of a healthy church, but as the text I just read indicates… Holiness is a good indicator of a healthy church.
And when have ever increasing people wanting to join together a local church, in order to hold one another accountable in our growth in Christ, that’s a far better metric than attendance in my opinion.
But I’m going to take a few quick moments to provided a few organizational/structural updates.
Staff
Staff
A Growing church has growing needs, that need to be staffed accordingly.
As of August 1st, we’ve brought Jonny Crouse on board at an hourly rate, for 10 hours a week as our Youth Ministry Team Leader.
I believe God wants us to reach and invest in the next generation, and God has brought Jonny and Lindsey to our hourse for this purpose.
Secondly, as of August 1st we have brought on Robyn Turner as our Church Administrator at an hourly rate for 30 hours a week.
Robyn is detail oriented, and has a high value for execution. She has already made our staff, and consequently our church better.
We are also actively searching and interviewing for an Executive Pastor.
The Executive Pastor will be responsibile for overseeing the execution of our church’s mission and vision.
We currently have 3 good, but very different candidates in the interview process.
We are urgent, but not in a hurry.
So please pray for guidance and wisdom.
Finally, we are prayerfully moving to add to our Elder Team.
We are an eldered governed church, and with Mike and Tracy Collins move this past month, we hope to add at least one elder to our team by the end of the year.
As always we will invite candidates into a lengthy and slow interview process, and present those candidates to the church.
So as you think of our church, please pray for wisdom to add the right people to our staff team, and elder team.
Missions
Missions
We also have a massive vision to be a church, living on mission for God’s Kingdom, not just in RH but around the world.
Many of you may not know, but we lead the way with giving, for where your treasure is your heart will be also.
So we are a tithing church, 10% all given goes right back out in the support of national and international missions.
But we also want to be a sending church.
And next month CBC will actually be taking its first ever short-term go trips.
One of those trips will be to Guatemala to serve the Wilson family and the BVSA Soccer Academy, so I’d love for Alex Becker to come up and briefly share about that trip.
Togo
Annie and I are also headed to Togo the first week of Oct.
Roberts family, and visit the Wycliffe translation team.
