Top 10 Things that “He” is greater than:
10. He Is Greater Than “The Giants Or Mountains” You Face
Romans 8:37 “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”
9. He Is Greater Than The Darkness Enveloping Our World
John 16:33 “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
1 Corinthians 3:18–19 “Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their own craftiness”
8. He Is Greater Than Any Hurt You've been through
Psalm 34:18 “The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves the crushed in spirit.” (ESV)
Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.”
Psalm 91:15 “He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.”
If your spirit is crushed, read Psalm 91 every morning
7. He Is Greater Than Any Temptation You May Have
1 Corinthians 10:13 “but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”
James 4:7 “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”
Submission to God + resist the devil = success
6. He Is Greater Than Your Past
Philippians 3:13 “Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,”
5. He Is Greater Than Your Fears
nearly one third of adults (32.3%) reported anxiety and depression symptoms in 2023
In adolescents between 13 and 18 years old, 31.9% are affected by anxiety disorders
“My fear doesn't stand a chance when I stand in your love.”
2 Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
Deuteronomy 31:6 “The Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”
4. He Is Greater Than Your Needs
Philippians 4:19 “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
Psalm 37:25 “I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread.”
3. He Is Greater Than Any Sin You Have You Have Ever Done
“There is a difference between being forgiven of a sin and being healed of a sin. Forgiveness is what takes place in God’s heart. Healing is what happens in yours.”
“If left to ourselves, our sins will be too hard for us;” Matthew Henry wrote, “but God’s grace shall be sufficient to subdue them, so that they shall not rule us, and then they shall not ruin us.”
Psalm 103:12 “As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.”
Micah 7:19 “He will again have compassion on us, And will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins Into the depths of the sea.”
The sea of forgetfulness descends from Jewish tradition. Daniel Green explains, “The phrase you will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea is the basis for the Jewish custom of Tashlich (which means ‘you will cast’) when Jewish people cast bread into a body of water on Rosh Hashanah to symbolize God’s removal of sin”
1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.”
2. He Is Greater Than Your Defeats
Lamentations 3:22–23 “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.”
2 Corinthians 4:8–9 “We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed”
He Is Greater Than The Devil/Satan
Remember: you are not fighting for victory, but from victory, for Jesus Christ has already defeated Satan!
Warren W. Wiersbe
1 John 3:8 “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”
Romans 8:37–39 “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Colossians 2:15 “Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.”
