The Furious Love of God

What - The Love of God as Furious and Fire. Furious because it is unrelenting, intentional, and passionate. Fire because it has a way of purifying what it touches.
Why - “Our perception of God is the most important thing about us” - Tozer.
Furious “full of anger or energy; violent or intense.”
"he drove at a furious speed"
False perceptions of the love of God lead to desperation, uncertainness, and ultimately a dependence on one’s own works as an attempt to find consistency in relationship. Such teetering back and forth causes us to feel like obedience to God is a burden.
At the same time, false notions of God’s love lead us to live a passive life, doing what we want to do without regard for God’s vision for the world.
