The battle

1) Introduction

a) There is a dark,wicked, and dangerous war that is and has been taking place in America.

I) It is a form of war with sabotage,corruption,and trickery.

2) Its a deadly war and If we are not careful we could easily be deceived or held captive by the enemy.

3) It is a fight a war between light and darkness,good an evil,and your enteral destination.

4) Whether you believe it are not,We are all part of this fight wither you like it out not.

b) We cannot be neutral in this present age.

1) Why, because we will find ourselves in the crossfire and possibly the most dangerous place of all.

c) Lets read the text Ephesians 6:10-20

d) The church is our war station

1) Today's message will help us be prepared for the enemy when he attacks.

2) When we were born again in Jesus Christ. We step out of one fight into another,but now in Christ Jesus we will be victorious.

3) before we get into our passage this is not talking about just pastor’s,teachers of the word,evangelist but to each one of us.

Eph 6:11

a) we must try to get a understand of our enemy.

b) Our adversary is called “the devil” or satan

c) in today's view he is nothing but a superstition or a guy in long,red clothing with a pitch fork.

d) but i’m here to tell you he is real. the bible never speaks of satan as some figment of the imagination.

e) It is very important for us to know who we are getting in the ring with. (boxing match)

2.) Our enemy

1.) He Is Strategic

- meaning there is a strategy already planned, already mapped out, that is being worked to destroy you, this nation, your home; all that is good, all that is holy, all that is godly

2.) He Is Strong

-Listen don't be fooled satan is strong.he is a lofty, exalted person, who has kingdoms and myriads of demons who do his bidding, principalities and powers and spiritual wickedness in high places. Dont get me wrong God is almighty but satan is mighty.

1.) 1 Peter 5:8

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

2.) John 8:44

He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

3.) John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.

note: but,thank God satan has already been defeated at Calvary.

3.) The Armour

A) Girdle of truth:integrity Ephesians 6:13

- In bible times a solder would wear a tunic with a leather belt or girdle would be cinched up tight to prepare him for battle. On his belt he would hang weapons.this belt would hold everything together so is tunic wouldn't get hang up on anything.

I) this belt is integrity

- integrity is what holds it all together

- satan is a lair and he will come against u with lies,So we must know the truth,love the truth,tell the truth,live the truth.

B) the breastplate of righteousness:purity Ephesians 6:14

- a soldier would have a breastplate as part of his armor. it would cover all the vital organs and without it he would be very vulnerable to any blow from a sword or arrow.

I)Righteousness is our purity

- there is to be no hiding sin in our lives we must bring it to God in repents.

- the enemy wants to attack us not only with lies,but also with impurity. If he can get our minds and heart involved in sinful things so that we have a crack in your armor then he can start delivering some blows in our life and he knows where the cracks are.

C) the shoes of peace:tranquility. Ephesians 6:15

- a soldier wound have nails on the bottom of his shoe so the he was able to have good footing daring battle.

- we see Paul telling us to stand firm in the mist of battle.

- we need to have peace with God and with one another this is tranquility.

-where do we get peace from Jesus christ.

- we have to be careful Satan will try and come against our tranquility with doubts and discouragements.

D) the shield of faith: certainty. Ephesians 6 :16

- Paul wrote this passage chained to a Roman soldier. The soldier would have a shield made of wood covered with leather to stop flaming arrows

-We here Paul telling us to pick up the shield of faith so that when the fiery arrows come our way we would be able to quench them.

- satan loves fill our hearts and mind with doubt

-we have to feed our faith and carry our doubts to the lord Jesus Christ.

E) the helmet of salvation:sanity Ephesians 6:17

- A warrior would wear a helmet to protect his head. He knew if his head got wounded that nothing else work properly.

-the helmet of salvation literally means a helmet of deliverance.

- this is our mind under the complete control of God almighty.

- when a person gets saved it is the first time he or she has a right mind. we see that in mark 5:1-20 when a man who was filled with the devil.after jesus saves him we find him seated and clothed in his right mind

2.) We must join the fight

- we cant just suited up and sit at home.

- we see our stance in vs 13-14

1. we have a place to fight from

2. we stand in the victory that jesus has already won on Calvary.

A) in Eph 6:17 we see the power of the sword.God has given us a sword to fight with.it is the sword of the spirit and it is more powerful then any other (which is the word of God).

B) in Eph 6:18 we see the provision of the spirit which is prayer in the spirit is where our supply comes from. Every soldier needs a supply and a commander ours is Jesus Christ.

F) the Church must unite forces

- Paul was a warrior but he knew that he didn't fight alone.

- we need to pray for one another,because we fight with one another.

-We are not made to be a one man army.

- like i said earlier the church is our war station a place for us to reinforce ourselves with spiritual power and encouragement to stand firm in the fight,because we all fight against the same enemy.
