Make connections between the sections of the text - there is an interconnection between the sections
Trace logical/thematic connections that occur w/in the text
Numeric outline provides foundation - finds sections - now need to connect the dots (don’t use first this, then this, then this, then finally); try and find logical themes that run across the text/cohesion w/in the whole text
Philemon - the Lordship of Christ, or something like this (a theme) - occasion/purpose can be good starting points to find themes; or look at words in text, etc. - this takes TIME.
