Mark 6:5–6 NKJV
5 Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. 6 And He marveled because of their unbelief. Then He went about the villages in a circuit, teaching.
This is one of the few times in the Bible that Jesus was impressed
Impressed by their unbelief
If we can ruin the atmosphere, we can enhance and construct it too
We as a staff will be fasting and praying
Hebrews 11:3 NKJV
3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
The Spiritual realm set the tone of influence to the physical natural realm
John 9:1–7 NKJV
1 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. 2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” 3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. 4 I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” 6 When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. 7 And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.
Jesus wasn’t just making mud
He was creating an atmosphere of expectation
There’s an importance to him telling him to go wash in that specific pool
The pool of Bethesda was closer and more convenient (especially for a blind guy)
The Pool of Siloam was almost 4/10th of a mile away from where they were
Roughly 2,020 feet away
He gave specifics for a reason
A specific Fishing spot
Lewis River
East Fork or the North Fork
Under the bridge

Matthew 6:5–10 NKJV
5 “And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. 7 And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8 “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. 9 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
Jesus gives us the ability to call Heaven down to earth
Matthew 18:18 NKJV
18 “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
Whatever you bind on earth
Matthew 18:18 NKJV
18 “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
To Bind:
to forbid, prohibit, declare to be illicit
Same word is used in Luke 13:16
Luke 13:16 NKJV
16 So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?”
Satan is said to bind a woman bent together by means of a demon, as his messenger, taking possession of the woman and preventing her from standing upright
to bind, put under obligation, of the law, duty etc.
Vines expository:
