1 Timothy 5:1-16
1) What are all of the main ideas/concepts/points in this passage? WHAT IS PAUL SAYING? Paraphrase each verse or section in your own words.
attitude toward to other people in the church family, the attitudes we should have in a healthy family
how things should be a in a loving, caring, family
people have not treated women as sisters, with all purity, especailly in our society
we can still hold up an ideal

then a look at a specific example, treating widows as family, in the context of the first century they were not family
how we treat the most vulnerable among us matters, treat widows with respect, gentleness, care
echo of the fifth commandment in verse 4
reflecting Christ is shown in how we care for those that can’t care for themselves
children and grandchildren are called to be first up, they are to care for their widowed mother
verse 9 or 10, list of character markers, rhymes with the character markers of other leaders, reflects servant leadership
the idle, anyone one who is idle will continue to decline in their spiritual health
get busy doing the right things you are called to do
love one another . . . can preface many of these lines . . .
