What am I Going To Be When I Graduate?
What am I Going To Be When I Graduate?
Hoping for Resurrection through Cryonics
Psalm 16:10; Ecclesiastes 12:7; John 5:28–29; 1 Corinthians 15:51–58; Revelation 21:4
Preaching Themes: Death, Hope, Jesus_Resurrection, Resurrection
Alan Sinclair does not want his death to be permanent. After he dies, his blood will be flushed from his body and replaced with antifreeze. Technicians will then cool the body with dry ice and fly it to a cryonics center in Michigan. The center will keep it at minus 320 degrees. When a solution is found for whatever kills him, future technicians will thaw him out. Cured Alan will exist on earth once more. His wife has already died and undergone the cryonics solution.
The Christian hope is that God will resurrect us from the dead, just as our Lord Jesus resurrected. In the newly resurrected state, we will need no cure because the main cause of death—sin—will have already been taken care of.

Paul answers two questions
Paul answers two questions
How are the dead raised?
With what kind of body do they come?
Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.

seed sown-Jesus used this imagery speaking of Him and if He is the first fruits then we follow suit. John 12:23-26
And Jesus answered them, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.
New Body as God has designed it v38
New Body as God has designed it v38
Glorious-both bodies have and bring God glory-Athletes musicians writers etc. etc.
Paul points out that each body is made for a specific purpose and place=these bodies cannot be sufficient for Heaven
Illustration-guy buried under the apple tree
just a seed now, apple tree comes from the seed of an apple all three look different and have a different but congruous purpose
OK SO WHAT WILL OUR BODIES BE LIKE?
Imperishable=Eternal
Imperishable=Eternal
will not decay get old and sore, gravity has this strange affect-it pulls everything here
Glorious=Beautiful
Glorious=Beautiful
dishonor-came from sinful man-Adam
Glory means it came from God=He chose and each body is from the seed adam-sinful, God-glorious. How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news? so how about how beautiful is the sinless soul and body united to God perfectly reflecting His?
The man at homeless yesterday showed some of this hope and glory
Powerful-Like Jesus
Powerful-Like Jesus
walking through walls, flying, never getting tired
we were sown in weakness-sickness colds flu etc.
Joni Erickson Tada- I hope I can take my wheelchair to Heaven with me. Now I know that is not Biblically correct, but if I were able, I would have my wheelchair up in heaven right next to me when God gives me my brand new glorified body. And I will turn to Jesus and say “Lord do you see that wheelchair right there? Well, you were right when you said that in this world we would have trouble, because that wheelchair was a lot of trouble! But Jesus the weaker I was in that thing, the harder I leaned on you, the stronger I discovered you to be. So thank you for what you did in my life through that wheelchair. And now you can send that wheelchair to hell, if you want!
Spirit Filled
Spirit Filled
not like how we are Spirit filled here on this side of glory but in a perfect union with Him. not just in the presence of God but in the fullness of communion

Philippians 3:21 “who will transform our humble body to be conformed to his glorious body, in accordance with the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.”
For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.
