Consumed By God

1 Peter 1:7-8 KJV — That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

Opening Statement: I want to speak with you for the next few moments about “Being consumed by God". Many can remember the power they felt when they first received the Holy Ghost. The overwhelming desire to move for God. A zeal that was never present before, had now consumed us to walk a different path we had never walked. It went even past a desire and was a need, something we MUST do. We couldn’t shake it, we couldn’t get out from under it, we just had to do something for God.

The Romans had a race called the Torch Race. The time was set, the Runners would light a torch and then begin running, but just because you were the first to pass the finish line did not mean you won. The winner was the one who finished the race with their torch still on fire!

That means when the race first started that they were probably able to run full force for a while, there was plenty of tender for the fire, plenty of heat to keep it burning. But after some time the fire would slowly try to go out. Maybe they had to slow down, or they would stop in place and try to rekindle the fire back to full force in order to win the race. But we have a fire sent from Heaven!

Jeremiah- “I will pour out of my Spirit"

We have a fire that was not started by human hands nor human desire! This fire was sent from the God of Heaven and Earth! Jeremiah prophesied and said:

Acts 2:17 KJV — And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

That Spirit which was poured out was proclaimed to be a well of living water by Jesus Christ but it was also described as a Fire From Heaven in Act 2. Acts 2:3 KJV — And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

Do you remember when you received the Holy Ghost?

That is the burning passion that fell on you they day you received the Holy Ghost. It was a burning flame from heaven given you new life and out of your belly flowed rivers of LIVING WATER! And from that moment the fire of the Holy Ghost consumed your innermost being.

A flame is not content until all its surroundings are aflame!

Do not grow content!

Trials will test your faith but remember those trials are what kindles your fire and makes it stronger!

The fire is going to find a way out!

There is a fire inside of you that you MUST get out! Jeremiah tried holding it back but he just could not contain it.. it had to come out of him! Jeremiah 20:9 NKJV — Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not.

That Word that is in your innermost being is crying to be released and sent forth to a people set before you.

You can feel it in your bones, its in your heart, its all over you like a cloven tongues of fire. You can try and be quite about it but it has consumed everything about you! It was placed in YOU that YOU may spread the FIRE!

**You can try keeping it shut up in your bones, but all it could take is one more prayer, one more cry, one more shout for that fire to consume your neighbors! Let the fire of the Holy Ghost no only be in your bones but let it flow like a river out of your belly!

You Have An Unction

Satan knows his time is short he is walking about as a roaring lion and is seeking whom he may devour. But we have a fire, a sword, and armor. GOD has equipped us to completely defeat the devil he has also given us an anointing!

(REMEMBER SAULS ARMOR, FIND WHAT WORKS FOR YOU)

1 John 2:20 KJV — But ye have an unction (anointing) from the Holy One,….

That unction you feel is not just a fuzzy feeling, it is an anointing from the HOLY ONE to do His will. Every man, woman, and child has been placed here for such a time as this! Don’t be like Moses. When God called him he came up with excuse after excuse, “I cant speak, im not worthy, they wont believe me, who will I say is with me".

YOU HAVE AN UNCTIOIN from the Holy One, He is the One who has sent you. He is always with you.

This UNCTION does not mean you go at it alone. That would be entirely unfruitful. Moses didn’t want to go because he thought he was going on his own, until GOD said “Tell them I AM has sent you.” You are not going at it alone, you are to do exactly like the disciples did whom Jesus sent out. Mark 16:20 KJV — And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

He will go with you, he will not leave nor forsake you and His word will not return to Him void.

There is a great harvest but the workmen are few. WHO will go out and proclaim the name of the Lord?

Psalms 69 “The zeal of thine house has eaten me up"

Has the zeal for the house of the Lord eaten us up or has the world extinguished the fire that the Lord from Heaven has placed in your life? There is a world that is dying and going to another fire. An eternal lake of fire where the worm dies not! Where there is torments and anguish and gnashing of teeth both day and night forever more. And no one in that place will ever be able to escape.

We can sit on our cozy pew or seat and look around us and say “Oh how awful that must be for them" and not even pay attention to the fact that were seconds away from the finish line but the flame in our torch. Is Gone. Do we have time to return to find more tender, to find more spark to ignite the flame? Is it worth finding out? I don’t think so.

“Choose ye this day whom you will serve." You have been given the promise, you have received the gift of the Holy Ghost and if you have not I beg you today “Choose this day whom you will serve.” There are 2 options in this life:

1. You can live your life consumed by the fire which comes from heaven and let your life be lead by the zeal of the Lord. (or)

2. Waste your life with worldly pleasures that will vanish and fade into utter darkness when the end of this world comes and you will be place in an eternal lake of fire formed and fashioned for Satan and his angels.

There is no such thing as a dead gospel. If your reaching for people without a fire, you will not be capable of effectively touching their lives, the WORD OF THE LORD is what does the work, that is the fire and zeal that must come forth from you.

Luke 18:8 KJV — I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Satans Time is very short, we soon will see the face of our Lord Jesus Christ coming in the clouds! Has the zeal of His house eaten you up? Or will he turn and say depart from me you workers of iniquity I never knew you.

Make sure your blessings have not extinguished your fire and taken away your zeal.

I believe if you are in this room God Himself has placed a zeal in your heart and if you will listen to Him your fire will NEVER go out no matter the circumstance. Because unlike the flame of this world, Our fire is kindled by the trying of our faith.

Satan trying to cast doubt “You cant win"

Every time Satan trys to beat you down and lay you 6 ft in the ground saying “You cant do this, youll never stand the test of time" but you resist him like the scripture says. Then not only is Satans head bruised but your flame now is even BRIGHTER than it was before.

There is a generation after you that is counting on you. Your expectations are not just about you but also those after you. Abraham was promised a great land and he believed God but that expectation came to pass for those after him.

Don’t lose your zeal, watch your flame, Stand fast, Hold on, Stay strong HES COMING!

Revelation 19:12-16 KJV — His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

*feel* Jesus Christ – the faithful witness

*feel* We have an example

You see, we have an example, a faithful witness his name is Jesus Christ. He was made like unto his brethren and he ran the race. He finished the race with a fire still in his torch. And he gave us also that power. We are not running alone! HE has prepaired the way.

Acts 2:24 KJV — Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

If you will believe on him today. Let God consume you , the same God that raised Jesus Christ from the grave will also quicken your mortal body and we will be with him forever. Your reward will be eternal life. Call upon his name. He is both faithful and true. He will never leave you nor forsake you.

Every knee will bow to him and every tongues will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. If you bow to him here you will meet him in the clouds but if you reject him you will meet him in judgment without any means of justification.

Let the Lord Jesus Christ consume you today.
