God illustrates personal guidance-that God is ever with David (Ps 139.10) and "will lead" him.

God prohibits seeking guidance through mediums and spiritists

19 And when they say to you, “Inquire of the mediums and the necromancers who chirp and mutter,” should not a people inquire of their God? Should they inquire of the dead on behalf of the living?

Through the Old/New Test. the divine Shepherd cares for HIS sheep and leads them day by day

And they said, “John did no sign, but everything that John said about this man was true.” 42 And many believed in him there.
