Matthew 10:16–23 (NASB 2020)

“Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be as wary as serpents, and as innocent as doves. But be on guard against people, for they will hand you over to the courts and flog you in their synagogues; and you will even be brought before governors and kings on My account, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. But when they hand you over, do not worry about how or what you are to say; for what you are to say will be given you in that hour. For it is not you who are speaking, but it is the Spirit of your Father who is speaking in you.

“Now brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. And you will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.

“But whenever they persecute you in one city, flee to the next; for truly I say to you, you will not finish going through the cities of Israel until the Son of Man comes.

The Problems With Jesus According To Worldviews

Unchurched views are a perspective that doesn’t have an interest or exposure to structured Biblical teaching though God has given creation enough evidence of HIS presence. They’re groomed under the cultural influences of their lifetime which includes, family, community, education, entertainment or edutainment, and government and last but not least free-will.

Romans 1:19–20 “19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, being understood by what has been made, so that they are without excuse.”

Atheist views simply deny the belief in a god or gods. (Denial is an acts of free-will)

Psalm 14:1 “1 The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they have committed detestable acts; There is no one who does good.”

Psalm 36:1–2 “1 Wrongdoing speaks to the ungodly within his heart; There is no fear of God before his eyes. 2 For it flatters him in his own eyes Concerning the discovery of his wrongful deed and the hatred of it.”

The Problems With Jesus According To Religions

Perceptions from other beliefs have some type of a Messiah or an Unbiblical definition of Jesus Christ, His person, His purpose, and

Jehovah Witness: Jesus is not Jehovah God. He was the first son that Jehovah God brought forth. He is the first creation by God. Michael the archangel is non other than the only-begotten Son of God, now Jesus Christ.

Mormonism: Among the spirit

Christian Science: Christ is a divine Idea; and Jesus was the offspring of Mary’s self-conscious communion with God.

Spiritualism: Christ himself was nothing more than a medium of high order. He is now an advanced spirit in the sixth sphere (Basically Jesus in into necromancy)

New Age: The New Age Movement does not acknowledge sin or sin nature and eliminates the need for a Savior. All one needs to do is realize their own divine nature. Jesus is a man upon whom the Christ spirit came at baptism and departed at the cross.

Eastern Mysticism: God is omnipresent and almighty, and is in the hearts of everyone (Transcendental meditation). Christ is considered one of a long line of divinely realized masters. All religions are just different branches of the main trunk of the eternal religions represented by the Vedas (Oldest scriptural texts of Hinduism) ****Just another way of saying every belief is relevant and subjective reasoning is all you need as a path to god…)

Islam: Jesus is neither God nor the Son of God, but merely a prophet to Israel and a lesser prophet than Muhammad. ***So, let’s diminish his person and deity, function

Hinduism: Jesus attained God-realization and was thus enlightened guru (Teacher). He was not a Savior, nor the Son of God, nor did He rise from the dead.

Buddhism: Jesus was an enlightened master.

Taoism: This is no personal Creator-God in philosophical Taoism. The Tao is viewed as an impersonal absolute.

The Problem With Jesus According The Supernatural

They Recognize HIS preeminence along with all creation

Colossians 1:15–18 “15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation: 16 for by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or dominions, or rulers, or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17 He is before all things, and in Him all things yyjuuhold together. 18 He is also the head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.”

They Know who HE is and HIS Authority and Might

James 2:19 “19 You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.”

They Respond to HIS Command as creator

Job 1:8–9 “8 The Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil.” 9 Then Satan answered the Lord, “Does Job fear God for nothing?”

Job 1:12 “12 Then the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not reach out and put your hand on him.” So Satan departed from the presence of the Lord.”

They respond through worship

Mark 5:6–9 “6 Seeing Jesus from a distance, he ran up and bowed down before Him; 7 and shouting with a loud voice, he said, “What business do You have with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God, do not torment me!” 8 For He had already been saying to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!” 9 And He was asking him, “What is your name?” And he said to Him, “My name is Legion, for we are many.””

They face correction and judgement (Just like all beings in creation)

Matthew 4:10–11 “10 Then Jesus said to him, “Go away, Satan! For it is written: ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.’ ” 11 Then the devil left Him; and behold, angels came and began to serve Him.”

They Recognized Pretenders Within The Supernatural

Acts 19:13–15 “13 But also some of the Jewish exorcists, who went from place to place, attempted to use the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had the evil spirits, saying, “I order you in the name of Jesus whom Paul preaches!” 14 Now there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, doing this. 15 But the evil spirit responded and said to them, “I recognize Jesus, and I know of Paul, but who are you?””

Its disturbing that the supernatural beings have more of a reverence for Christ even though they carry out ungodly behaviors. Nonetheless they have a problem too!

Jude 6 “6 And angels who did not keep their own domain but abandoned their proper dwelling place, these He has kept in eternal restraints under darkness for the judgment of the great day,”

The Problem With Jesus In The Church

The State and Standing of The Church has been diluted with subjective worship and relevantism (Feeling and Emotional Church)

John 4:24 “24 God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.””

The People were deceived

Matthew 24:9–13 “9 “Then they will hand you over to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name. 10 And at that time many will fall away, and they will betray one another and hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will rise up and mislead many people. 12 And because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will become cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end is the one who will be saved.”

Can’t handle looking at their condition and developed a subjective attitude towards Biblical correction

2 Timothy 4:3–5 “For the time will come when they will not tolerate sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance with their own desires, and they will turn their ears away from the truth and will turn aside to myths. But as for you, use self-restraint in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.”

Can’t handle that faith comes persecution and hatred. We don’t want to offend with the gospel so just say nothing to maintain a false-peace.

Matthew 10:22 “And you will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.”

Matthew 10:34–36 ““Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I came to turn a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a person’s enemies WILL BE the members of his household.”

Accepting different gospel message, different Jesus ad=nd different spirit that is in opposition of the Apostolic teachings.

2 Corinthians 11:3–4 “3 But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his trickery, your minds will be led astray from sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4 For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, this you tolerate very well!”

We’ve allowed the philosophical worldviews to supersede God’s word

2 Timothy 3:16 “16 All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness;”

Hebrews 4:12 “12 For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, even penetrating as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

Colossians 2:8 “8 See to it that there is no one who takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception in accordance with human tradition, in accordance with the elementary principles of the world, rather than in accordance with Christ.”

The fear of the warfare that comes with the faith

2 Timothy 2:3–4 “3 Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him.”

Ephesians 6:11 “11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.”

We’ve pursued knowledge and advancements to build wealth, and teach self-made prosperity.

Revelation 3:17 “Because you say, “I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have no need of anything,” and you do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked,”

We’ve developed a loyalty and idolatrous behavior to pastors and charismatic leadership

1 Corinthians 1:12 “Now I mean this, that each one of you is saying, “I am with Paul,” or “I am with Apollos,” or “I am with Cephas,” or “I am with Christ.””

1 Corinthians 3:4–7 “4 For when one person says, “I am with Paul,” and another, “I am with Apollos,” are you not ordinary people? 5 What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, even as the Lord gave opportunity to each one. 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. 7 So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the growth.”

We’ve substituted learning everything else versus learning Christ and HIS suffering

Philippians 3:8–10 “More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them mere rubbish, so that I may gain Christ, and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith, that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death;”

We’ve strayed away from the Original Apostolic Blueprint of Church fellowship and worship.

Acts 2:42–47 “They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. And all the believers were together and had all things in common; and they would sell their property and possessions and share them with all, to the extent that anyone had need. Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.”

We Don’t Agree With The Absolute Authority of Gods Word Due To Doubt/Deception

Romans 15:4 “4 For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.”

James 1:22 “22 But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not just hearers who deceive themselves.”

The Problem Jesus Has With US…

Our Nature

John 3:18–20 “18 The one who believes in Him is not judged; the one who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. 19 And this is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the Light; for their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light, so that his deeds will not be exposed.”

Romans 3:23 “23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”

Our Path To Facing God’s The Fathers Wrath

John 3:18–19 “18 The one who believes in Him is not judged; the one who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. 19 And this is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the Light; for their deeds were evil.”

John 3:36 “36 The one who believes in the Son has eternal life; but the one who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.””

Our Ignorance of HIS coming

Luke 19:10 “10 For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.””

Their are people who don’t believe they are sinners just have bad days and need advice.

There Is A Point Of No Return

Matthew 24:36–37 “36 “But about that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. 37 For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah.”

Revelation 20:11–15 “11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. 13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them; and they were judged, each one of them according to their deeds. 14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.”

Rejection Of The Messiah

Hebrews 2:3–4 “3 how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? After it was at first spoken through the Lord, it was confirmed to us by those who heard, 4 God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders, and by various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit according to His own will.”

John 3:3 “3 Jesus responded and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.””
