Who can name the four strokes of the combustable engine

#1 Intake #2 Compression #3 Power # 4 Exhaust
#1 Intake As Christians we start out by receiving christ as our personal savior.
and we must first learn about Jesus christ our lord. Where do we go for this?
There are many sources for this such as church , Sunday school, Pastors messages,
But the best source for this Is the word of God thru the Gospel’s Matt, Mark , Luke and John. As you progress thru life you’ll find that the entire bible contains Jesus.
The new testament is all about Jesus and he is plainly seen.
In the Old testament Jesus is concealed, hidden,
The whole book is all about Jesus and God’s great love for mankind.
Psalm 40:7
Then said I, Lo, I come:
In the volume of the book it is written of me,
Gods word is the best source if we want to be efficient in our Christian life.
We must have a proper mixture of both fuel and oxygen for our vehicle to run properly.
Did you know it take a fuel mixture of exactly 14.7 to 1 for your vehicle to run properly. Too much air and the vehicle will sputter and spit and back fire. If you can even get it to fire up.
Too much fuel and it will pour black smoke out the tail pipe. And will have no power .
Again if you can get it to run at all.
Its the same way in a Christian’s life we must keep a balance of the word of God and prayer in our life teaching others the same principals so they can have productive christian lives.
1 Peter 4: 10 say’s
10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
Let talk about that word there ;
The manifold grace of God
A manifold has one source ( carburetor) and distributes that source to many other places ( the cylinders) the intake stroke starts with the piston at the top of the cylinder and as it moves down to the bottom of the stroke the intake valve opens and creates a vacuum in that cylinder. Allowing the cylinder to fill with the air fuel mixture.
Without Jesus we are like that empty cylinder in a vacuum.
Trying to run on nothing but air. No power! No fuel! No movement!
Stroke #2
Compression stroke!
As the the piston moves back up towards the top the intake valve closes and air fuel mixture is compressed into a very small area.
As Christians we all go thru times of compression ( pressures) Pressure from the out side , from inside, from work, family, friends, neighbors, even Church can cause us pressure sometimes. How many of you have gone thru times of pressure?
Just as the pressure gets to the point where it won’t compress anymore. You have reached the top of that compression stroke.
At that exact moment a spark is added to the air fuel mixture
The spark is when Holy Ghost shows up in your situation. The Holy Ghost brings the victory over every pressure, every enemy , every situation vaporizing the pressure causing us to triumph in Christ Jesus.
At this time let me say something about timing
Timing is crucial. If the spark come’s to soon the engine will knock and ping, if it comes to late you will lose power waisting fuel because it won’t burn all the fuel in the cylinder.
Our God has perfect timing he knows just when to show up in our lives He is never to late to a fight his timing is perfect!
God doesn’t always show up when we want him too. But he’s always right on time!
The Crowed said he was three days to late for Lazarus but he proved he was right on time when he raised him from the dead.
The spark causes the air fuel to ignite in the cylinder!
And this is the beginning of the Power stroke. As the air fuel mixture ignites the gasses expand pushing the piston back down to the bottom of the cylinder. This is the victory over our enemies. When God shows up he destroys every enemy by his power . Not OURS! In His timing. Not ours!
Some of the hardest lessons I’ve had to learn was just to wait on Jesus. Not to get ahead of his timing nor to lag behind of his timing. But let him have his perfect will in my life!
Timing is everything! Even in Jesus!
Next is the exhaust stroke!
This stroke starts at the bottom of the cylinder .
The exhaust valve opens and all the burned up gasses are pushed out of the cylinder as the piston now moves back to the top. As Christians we are always compelled to follow after Jesus. to become more like him, to walk in the spirit as he did, to suppress this flesh. Paul said I die daily! But the truth is we can’t do this by ourselves . It requires the Holy Ghost coming and burning up the refuse in our lives and then pushing it out of our lives as we follow his leading! Jesus told his deciples to follow him and he would make them fishers of men . No greater calling than to be a deciple of christ. A fisher of men!
