Some people here this evening who will share how they became a Christian.

What does John the Baptist know about becoming a Christian?

I. Repentance

What does it mean to repent?

I. Repentance includes a changed life

II. Repentance includes admitting guilt and forsaking false hope

v.7 Brood of vipers

v.8-9 Don’t trust in being children of Abraham

Application- This is what everyone must do.

II. Believing in Jesus

John preached Christ because he knew people needed to trust in him.

Jesus is Superior v.11- He is the only Saviour. He is the eternal Son of God. The Messiah

Jesus makes people new and cleanses them from sin v. 11- He baptises with the Holy Spirit. He makes people born again.
