There were Other Boats
A detail you may have missed in the story of Jesus calming the storm
We are in the ship of the Church and we are surrounded by people who are going in our same direction but not with us.
The storm affects all boats, not just the boat of the Church.
We may see our own plight most, but it may be worse for them.
No amount of sailing experience is going to save – only Jesus. It may seem like He doesn’t care, and we may even speak regretful words.
Jesus does not answer the accusation, but speaks two words that change the world: “Be silent; Be muzzled!”
Why are you cowardly? Do you not have faith? Christ is risen from the dead. We are going to win, and when we do, we will save the ones in the other boats too.
