Will He Walk on by?
Jesus sent the disciples across the lake where their faith would be tested. He came near them in their hour of exhaustion and deepest need, but something more yet had to happen.
The disciples, having sailed all night, were now in a midst of a storm, rowing against the wind in the middle of the lake.
Jesus comes to them in a place where they never thought he could get to them, yet he meant to walk on by.
They all saw Him and were terrified, yet this cry was exactly the invitation Jesus desired them to have.
He gave them courage, and got into the boat with them. Once Jesus was aboard, the wind ceased.
We exhaust ourselves just trying to keep from being swamped.
We can be afraid of the world and still afraid of Jesus’ coming.
Jesus gives courage and hears our invitation to come.
