Hard hearts are somehow both calloused and given to sensuality. How can they get to such a state? They are darkened in their minds. But that is not the way you learned Christ!
The mind is the place where we are either slaves to our impulses or free in Christ. Where there is struggle with sin, the battlefield is our mind.
How can we be set free?
Put off the old self
Be renewed in the spirit of your mind
Put away falsehood
Watch your mouth
And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
