SERMON NOTES
"The Gospel Does Not Run Alone"
Colossians 4:7-18
Main Idea: It is within God’s power to advance the Gospel to all the earth through, for example, the mediation of angels. He could do so in a day. But it is God’s revealed plan (Colossians 4:2-6) that He would speak through us, especially as we pray (4:2-3) and walk through the open doors that He subsequently provides (4:4-6). The Gospel does not run alone. Christians carry it. And none of us do so alone. We run together. The 12 believers (excepting 1) mentioned by name in the 4th chapter of Colossians typify for us the different kinds of men and women we need in order to carry out our mission. It is the interconnection of the many, each with unique calling, gifting and personality, that empowers our witness. Which of the 11 is God making you to be like? How can you step more fully into that calling?
