Who is Jesus

JtB Reincarnated
This is the explanation of the miraculous powers that Jesus shows
Oh, by the way JtB is dead.
#Flashback#
Matthew is going to tell how Jesus is a type
Type: JtB
Type: Martyrdom for the Kingdom
For the righteousness of the Kingdom
Herod says “Jesus is JtB”
Is not 100% wrong - Matthew agrees with him in a sense

Rejection

Coming out of the instructions of Service to the disciples:
Matthew 10:16 ““Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves.”
Matthew 10:22 ““You will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.”
JtB - Matthew 11:3 “and said to Him, “Are You the Expected One, or shall we look for someone else?””
Have you not seen My Works?
Woe to these cities / This area
Staring the Messiah in the face, and cannot see Him,
There will be Judgment
Matthew 11:24 ““Nevertheless I say to you that it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for you.””
Ch12 - Jesus is antagonized by the Pharisees and the Scribes
Israelites are the perfect example of the Rejection of the Christ (They are not the only ones)
Though God Has chosen to reveal Himself to you and through you, He has been rejected : You Blaspheme Him, and Make Him a mockery to all nations
They were the Chosen People
Deuteronomy 7:7–11 ““The Lord did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any of the peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples, but because the Lord loved you and kept the oath which He swore to your forefathers, the Lord brought you out by a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. “Know therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His lovingkindness to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments; but repays those who hate Him to their faces, to destroy them; He will not delay with him who hates Him, He will repay him to his face. “Therefore, you shall keep the commandment and the statutes and the judgments which I am commanding you today, to do them.”
Speaking of the responsibility of the revelation that God has made to all:
Romans 1:21–23“For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.”
Witness : The Mercy of God in His offer to Israel, and the rejection of God, and His offer of Salvation
P and S Test His teachings
Matthew 12:2 “But when the Pharisees saw this, they said to Him, “Look, Your disciples do what is not lawful to do on a Sabbath.””
Answer: I AM the Sabbath!
Jews want to see signs:
Matthew 12:38 “Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said to Him, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from You.””
Answer: Open your eyes!
Ch 13 - Offer / Revelation of Who the Christ is be opened up to the Gentile Disciples given the capacity to believe
Matthew 13:10–11 “And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?” Jesus answered them, “To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted.”

Rejection starts to become real - Tangible

So, Who does Herod say that Jesus is?
JtB - The minister of Righteousness
John locked up for speaking out against the King’s sinful, illegal, and immoral infidelity
Herod committed Adultery (and broke 10th commandment - covet thy neighbor’s wife)
Divorced his own wife without just cause
Married his brother’s wife while brother still alive - making her an adulterer
Leviticus 20:21 “‘If there is a man who takes his brother’s wife, it is abhorrent; he has uncovered his brother’s nakedness. They will be childless.”
JtB - Who He feared as having a dangerous mass of followers
They found fault in JtB - Why
Because he is My Disciple
Matthew 17:10–13 “And His disciples asked Him, “Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?” And He answered and said, “Elijah is coming and will restore all things; but I say to you that Elijah already came, and they did not recognize him, but did to him whatever they wished. So also the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands.” Then the disciples understood that He had spoken to them about John the Baptist.”
Jesus’ rejection is going to start getting real
As we march toward the Cross
The question of faith,
On which He builds His church becomes
Matthew 16:15–17 “He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.”
