INTRODUCTION:
How do you understand when you heard this Scripture?

MATTHEW 12: 43-45

When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, but finds none.

Then it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when it comes, it finds the house empty, swept, and put in order.

Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there, and the last state of that person is worse than the first. So also will it be with this evil generation.”

Many people think, a man who converted in Christ and fall into sin, will be sins worse than before.
Some said, they will lose salvation.
some believed, that a person who is possessed by demon and cast out by the power of Jesus. but if that person do not believe in Jesus, when Demon came back in with his friends this time.
Jesus was giving a parables to the Pharisees. Because, they know well the scripture but their knowledge blind them. They didn’t understand the Power of God. They got confused by the power of The Spirit and Satan.
Which one do you think it is true?
The same word Peter mentions about this in his 2nd letters.
SRICPTURE:

2 peter 2:20-22

when people escape from the wickedness of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and then get tangled up and enslaved by sin again, they are worse off than before. It would be better if they had never known the way to righteousness than to know it and then reject the command they were given to live a holy life

OBSERVATION:
1. when wrote this letter to believers not waves in their faith.
2. warned them to be careful from the false teaching.
INTERPRETATION:
In this letter, Peter is talking about the people who hear the Gospel, know about JESUS, know that He is SAVIOR. but Do not received that as their Lord.
V20: Escaped from the wickedness of the world by knowing the Our Lord.
They already know the gospel, but they rejected to believe in Jesus. This is different than what the Pharisees and Jewish Leaders. This people heard about the gospel of Jesus. they have already seen the power of God by their own eyes. But they just do not believe it.
Like Judea (the disciple of Jesus), The followed Jesus wherever Jesus go and saw many miracle with his own eyes. but He just didn’t believe it. because Money blind his eyes.
John 6:64 ESV
But there are some of you who do not believe.” (For Jesus knew from the beginning who those were who did not believe, and who it was who would betray him.)
Application:
Even in Christian Community, People has been Christian for so long but still reject Jesus.
They heard the Gospel of Jesus a million time but their knowledge blinded them.
V21: better for them not to have….
Those who reject have no other way of Salvation.
Hebrews 10:26 NIV
If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left,
What is Sin? Sin is ignoring what God told us to do.
James 4:17 NIV
If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.
they have known about the Gospel, they have been heard a million time. God have given that Person a chance to believe and Repent for many time. but that person chose not to believed in Jesus. So, there will be not more chance for that person.
TAKE TIME….

You might properly say, Why God doesn’t make that person to believe? But God is given us the free will. He let us choose the way we want willingly.

Can Salvation be lost if you sinned again? No, Peter is not write about falling into sins. But He wrote about false teacher, who hear about Jesus but not believed as their savior.

Ephesians 1:13–14 (NIV)
And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.
John 10:28–29 (ESV)
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.
APPLICATION:

Receipt Humbling the Word of God

Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Why as Child? Children believe simply from what parent and teacher said. They have no doubt on it.
Humbling mean, remove what you know, what you think and what you have. Just take and receipt it.

biggest enemy that we have now is: Television, the Internet, social media, websites, blogs, podcasts and radio. what you see and what you heard, what you listen to, what you watch is really important.
we should be mindful. we are ability to control them but by them.

we are Just a human. we can not overcome our desire. devil’s arrow. we are full of need and we are weak. the more we fight for our life, the more we failed. instead, Let God do your works.
submit yourself to God. it is good to do early in the morning. once you wake up, give your heart, your time and your day into God’s hands. the rest He will talk care of you.
