In a world of tumult, and suffering, the only real and lasting rest believers can find is given to us by the God of peace.
Isaiah 26:3
You keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on you,
because he trusts in you.
John 14:27
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
John 16:31–33
“Jesus answered them, “Do you now believe? Behold, the hour is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, each to his own home, and will leave me alone.
Yet I am not alone, for the Father is with me. I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
Mark 4:35-41
35 On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side.”
36 And leaving the crowd, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. And other boats were with him.
37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. 38 But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?”
39 And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
40 He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?”
41 And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”
Philippians 4:6–7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
A Child’s Light
A child’s light, though brief it gleams,
Shines far beyond our earthly dreams.
With pancakes flipped, and skeet shots true,
Her joy-filled heart in all we'd do.
Judging stews and tea so sweet,
She brought the warmth no one could beat.
Making Papa laugh, and Reef behave,
Her love is what we always crave.
Her laughter’s song, a sweet refrain,
Though silenced here, is not in vain.
For in our hearts, she’ll always stay,
Glamma’s star has lit our way.
Though gone too soon, her life well spent,
Reminds us all of heaven sent.
In every smile, in every tear,
Her precious presence lingers near.
Rest now, dear child, in heaven’s grace,
We hold you in a warm embrace.
Your light, your love, your joy, your song,
Will carry us, as we move on.
Family:
Time won’t heal all wounds,
This isn’t a bridge to get over,
It is a process that only God can guide you through…
II Sam. 12:23
But now he is dead. Why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he will not return to me.”
Romans 10:19
If you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
