Now, to change the subject…

Starting Point Connection Group

I believe that it is important to not only attend a local church but to also be a committed member of a local church.
I want to encourage everyone to not only be an attender of South Charlotte Baptist Church but to also become a member of South Charlotte Baptist Church.
There are three steps that individuals take:
First time guest
Regular attender
Member
I want to encourage everyone who is new to South Charlotte Baptist Church or who has been attending South Charlotte Baptist Church but who is not yet a member to attend our next, six-week Starting Point Connection Group which begins Sunday, October 20, at 9:45 AM in the Upper Room.
Now, to change the subject - again…

2024 Friend Day

Friend Day takes place in just 2 weeks!
There will be no Connection Groups.
Service will begin at 10:30 AM instead of usual 11 AM!
(Coffee and donuts will be served - outside - beginning at 10 AM.)
Lunch will be served following the service
Please, everyone, plan to stay!
Please bring side dishes and desserts. We will provide fried chicken.
There will be no evening services/activities.
Scripture Reading: Luke 14:16-25.

Message: Compel Them To Come In

Luke 14:23 KJV 1900
And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
The purpose of South Charlotte Baptist Church
Friend Day is not merely an opportunity for us to celebrate the church’s anniversary - this will be our 46th anniversary - it is an opportunity for us to consciously fulfil our purpose.
Friend Day is an opportunity for us to compel them to come in so that they might be able to hear the Gospel and be saved!
In these two weeks, leading up to Friend Day, I want to challenge you in several ways.

Prepare

Leading up to Oct. 13th:

Who do you need to invite?
Who have you invited?
Who do you need to follow up with?
Mayor and town council of Pineville has been invited.
Dottie, the owner of Crystal Cleaners, has been invited.
Oct 1st - National Night Out: Opportunity to pass out Friend Day invitations.
Oct 5th - Seed Sowing Saturday

On Oct. 13th:

Arrive early.
Bring food for lunch.
Be welcoming. Greet everyone.
Be helpful.
Guests will have no idea where to go; what to do; where things are, etc.
Encourage guests to fill out a Connection Card.
Do you know where to find a Connection Card?
Make sure that they fill the card out completely. Can you read the Connection Card?
Do you know what to do with a Connection Card once it’s filled out?
Invite a guest to sit with you.

During the service.

Don’t stay in your “little corner” of the auditorium.
Participate in the service. Sing.

After the message.

Assume that some will respond to the invitation.
Are you prepared to lead someone to the Lord? Do you know that you are saved?
Take a Gospel tract home. Read it. At the very least you could - if put on the spot - simply take someone through a Gospel tract.
Do you know where to counsel an individual?
Choir Room
Library/Conference Room
Luke’s old office
Classrooms in the Fellowship Hall
Be sure to take a Decision Packet.
Demonstrate what is inside the Decision Packet.
If you lead someone to the Lord, introduce him to someone and have them acknowledge the decision they have made.

After the service.

Invite a guest to stay for lunch.
Church members, don’t be the first ones to eat. Allow our guests and even our regular attenders to go before you.
Invite a guest to sit with you. Or, sit with a guest. Then, actually talk with them.

Pray

Men’s prayer meeting on Saturday evening, October 5th at 8:00 PM
