And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not.

Occurs 166 times in 157 verses.

God spoke in time past in dreams (Hebrews 1:1)
Now He speaks through His Son (Hebrews 1:2)
Jesus is called The Word (John 1:1, 14)
The Bible is called The Word (Romans 10:17)
How does God describe those that claim that God speaks to them in dreams? (Deuteronomy 13:1-5)
What does God say to those whom He says are asleep? (Psalm 35:23; Romans 13:11)

Notice the assurance God gave this man.
Only God through both the Spirit of God and the Scriptures of God can give assurance (“assurance” occurs 7 times in the Bible. One in particular is 1 Thessalonians 1:5)

I am glad to tell you He is present (Psalm 46:1)
I am thankful He is our provider (Philippians 4:19)

God has three ways He makes His presence known:
There is the essential presence of God. You know He is there but you cannot feel His presence.
There is the cultivated presence of God. You pray and stay in the Scriptures as to walk with Him.
There is the manifest presence of God. For no other reason than He can, God just manifests Himself!

Just because you do not understand what God is doing does not mean God is not working.
God works outside your knowledge but inside the bounds of what He said.
Psalm 138:2 “I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.”
