Spiritual Warfare and our Victory

Acts 3- Is The disciples are attacking the kingdom of satan-
This man bound in infirmity and poverty gets set free when these two ambassadors of Christ come
they bring light into the darkness just by living their life
Matthew 11:12 ESV
From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force.
When we think of Spiritual warfare most likely we think of the Exorcist
but just living as a light is Spiritual warfare
Peter and John demonstrate the authority of the Kingdom of God
Acts 10:38 ESV
how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.
Jesus’ Life was one of Spiritual warfare everywhere He went it was light piercing through the Darkness
- Jesus has taken back wha the enemy stole through sin
Adam and Eve made mankind slave to sin
Romans 6:6 ESV
We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.
And By setting us free He also Gave us authority
Matthew 28:18–19 ESV
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
And He made this promise
Mark 16:17–18 ESV
And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Authority From on high and the Enemy

Luke 10:19 (ESV)
Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.

1. exousia (ἐξουσία, 1849) denotes “authority” (from the impersonal verb exesti, “it is lawful”). From the meaning of “leave or permission,” or liberty of doing as one pleases, it passed to that of “the ability or strength with which one is endued,” then to that of the “power of authority,” the right to exercise power,

It is the Power, implying authority- The Jurisdiction
Over all the dunamis (Power) of the enemy- How much? ALL
Satan is a defeated foe- If Jesus has the authority and gives the keys to the church then we trample on the enemy
2 Corinthians 10:3–5 ESV
For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,
Who has the powerful weapons- The believers
Who does the demolishing?
- The Believers
When we understand this we operate Like the early believers did

The goal is just healing the goal is the advancement of the kingdom

Peter Stands up and gives the Message of Faith in Jesus with authority demolishing every argument that anyone might have had because the evidence in the Man standing, leaping, and praising God.
Acts 3:13 ESV
The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified his servant Jesus, whom you delivered over and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release him.
Acts 3:16 ESV
And his name—by faith in his name—has made this man strong whom you see and know, and the faith that is through Jesus has given the man this perfect health in the presence of you all.
And then the Call to respond and leave the kingdom of Darkness
Acts 3:19–20 ESV
Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus,
And why Did Jesus comes?
Acts 3:26 ESV
God, having raised up his servant, sent him to you first, to bless you by turning every one of you from your wickedness.”

Opposition comes from Satan-

Acts 4:1–7 ESV
And as they were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came upon them, greatly annoyed because they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection from the dead. And they arrested them and put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening. But many of those who had heard the word believed, and the number of the men came to about five thousand. On the next day their rulers and elders and scribes gathered together in Jerusalem, with Annas the high priest and Caiaphas and John and Alexander, and all who were of the high-priestly family. And when they had set them in the midst, they inquired, “By what power or by what name did you do this?”
what was the opposition too?
Was it the healing?
No it was the five thousand that went from death to life because our battle isn’t agaisnt flesh and blood- Satan is trying to stop a move of God

The anointing of the Spirit

Acts 4:8–14 ESV
Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders, if we are being examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed, let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by him this man is standing before you well. This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus. But seeing the man who was healed standing beside them, they had nothing to say in opposition.
Every argument they might have had was demolished!
That religious spirit that wanted to attack the gospel and the authority of of the Believers was shut down because of the anointing that was flowings
Isaiah 54:17 ESV
no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.”
This is the Promise that we stand on- Whatever God has called us to, No matter how hard the enemy may Try He cannot take us out

People Should Know we have been with Jesus-

Acts 4:13 ESV
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.
Everything Flows from being with Jesus
That is where we are filled and where we learn the voice of the Holy Spirit
Matthew 5:16 ESV
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Our lives should bring God glory, because when people see us they see that we have been with Jesus.

The Response of the Saints

Acts 4:23–31 ESV
When they were released, they went to their friends and reported what the chief priests and the elders had said to them. And when they heard it, they lifted their voices together to God and said, “Sovereign Lord, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and everything in them, who through the mouth of our father David, your servant, said by the Holy Spirit, “ ‘Why did the Gentiles rage, and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers were gathered together, against the Lord and against his Anointed’— for truly in this city there were gathered together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, to do whatever your hand and your plan had predestined to take place. And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness, while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.

They did see opposition as a distraction from the will of God

They Prayed they would continue - “Give us Boldness”-
They wanted all that God had and understood what was at stake-
Acts 4:29 ESV
And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness,
What were they preaching?
Acts 4:2 ESV
greatly annoyed because they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
This was what the enemy doesn’t want- The Captives being set free
