Ephesians 3:14-21; Indwelling Power

Sermon in a sentence: Rely on God’s indwelling power and love.

Introduction

As Americans, we are no strangers to the interior design industry. According to a 2022 due by Market Research Future, the interior design industry was a 130 Billion dollar annual industry. And this really isn’t a surprise to anyone who owns a tv plan with HGTV. I was shocked when I went to HGTV’s website to see all the shows they had. I began to count them and i stopped at 70. I was only in the B’s.
But today, I want to talk to you about an interior design that is worth even more than that 130 Billion dollar industry. Jesus asked, “What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and looses his soul?” Dear friends, the state of your eternal soul is worth more than this entire industry.

Paul’s Prayer

Paul was praying for the Ephesians, even though he was the one in prison.
He prayed for:
that they may be strengthened
He is in prison, yet he is praying for these believers.
He wants the Ephesians to know the height, depth, width, and breadth of God’s power!
Artemus, the other spiritual forces, the guilds, and Caesar all are too small to even compare to God’s power!
that they will comprehend God’s love
It is one thing to know someone loves you. It is another thing when you finally comprehend the love someone has for you.
Our children can tell us they love us. And that is sweet and precious! But it is different when your daughter FaceTimes you in a crying mess because she misses you.
that they will be filled with God
You have the Holy Spirit living inside of you! How can we not change live like it?
We do things like this all the time unfortunately. We say things like, “I just can’t…”

Paul’s Praise

Paul was so moved by recounting his prayer to praise God after praying for his family.
Our prayers should be filled with praise for God’s work in our lives.
My personal life
The lives of other believers
