Intro

Why do we “walk with God” or have a relationship with God in prayer?

1. A Walk in Prayer to Understand God’s Will

Proverbs 3:5–6 (KJV 1900)
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart;
And lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him,
And he shall direct thy paths.
Colossians 1:9–10 (KJV 1900)
9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
What is Paul praying for?
a. Filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding
b. That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing
c. That you would be fruitful in every good work
d. That you would increase in the knowledge of God
Psalm 143:8 (KJV 1900)
8 Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning;
For in thee do I trust:
Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk;
For I lift up my soul unto thee.

2. A Walk in Prayer to obtain wisdom from God
