Attaining Victory in Jesus In these last Days
Attaining Victory in Jesus In these last Days
"Daddy, what does that big sign say on that building?" 4-year-old Susan asked. "It says 'Jesus Saves,' Susan," he replied as we drove past a large church.
A short time later one of us remarked that we must find a bank so that we could get a check cashed. Susan immediately spoke up: "Why don't we go back to that bank we just passed where Jesus saves?"

Text: "But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ" 1 Cor. 15:57
V-igilant
"... be vigilant; because your adversary the devil... walketh about, seeking whom he may devour" . 1 Peter 5:8
Jesus was vigilant. He was aware of Satan's strategy. Jesus admonished us to "watch and pray," also ( Mark 13:13). Christians must continually be on the alert for Satan's distractions, deceptions, and discouragements.
I-nvolved
"We... as workers together with him..." ( 2 Cor. 6:1 ).
Jesus was busy doing His Father's work, helping the needy, healing the sick, and saving the lost. Following His example, Christians must become involved in working for the Lord-helping others and winning souls to Christ.
C-ourageous
"Be strong and of a good courage..." ( Josh 1:9).
Christ rebuked wrongdoers. He bravely faced those who accused, abused, and crucified Him. We must courageously stand up for Christ and witness for Him.
T-hankful
"In everything give thanks" ( 1 Thess. 5:18).
Jesus never complained. He lived a life of thankfulness, and in so doing glorified His Father (John 17:4). We should be thankful for Jesus' sacrifice and the salvation He gives. Thankfulness brings victory.
O-ptimistic
"... Christ in you, the hope of glory" (Col. 1:27).
Christ was never pessimistic. He came to bring hope to mankind. We must be optimistic, also. Our hope is in Christ, the One who never fails.
R-eliable "... my words shall not pass away" (Matt.24:35).
Jesus was dependable. He never failed any who came to Him (John 6:37). We should be trustworthy, too. Our words, our walk, and our work should testify that we are reliable.
Y-ielded
"... Lo, I come to do thy will, O God" (Heb.10:9).
Jesus prayed, "Not my will, but thine, be done" (Luke 22:42). We must be yielded to God's will if we are to be victorious. His will is best.
