Developing Greater Faith to Live in the Last Days
Developing Greater Faith to Live in the Last Days
Text: "... greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world" (I John 4:4 ).
Developing Greater Faith With Your Mind–Believe.
"... this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith" (1 John 5:4).
Many fail because of unbelief. They doubt God's Word, will, and work. Thinking about God's goodness, mercy, power, and love increases our faith. Hearing the WORD
Developing Greater Faith With Your Eyes–See.
"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith" (Heb. 12:2).
Many lack faith because they look at the faults and failures of others. They see the bad, not the good. We use our faith rightly when we keep our eyes on Jesus and seek the good in others.
Developing Greater Faith With Your Ears–Hear.
"... He that heareth... and believeth... hath everlasting life..." (John 5:24).
Many are weak in faith because they listen to sensualism, smut, and slander. We use our faith properly by listening to what God has to say. (Jn 10:27). My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
Developing Greater Faith With Your Voice–Speak.
"Talk ye of all his wondrous works" (Ps. 105:2).
People talk about the weather, the news, and their neighbors. We use our faith by talking about the goodness of God and by witnessing to the lost about Jesus Christ.
Developing Greater Faith With Your Hands–Work.
"... I will shew thee my faith by my works" (James 2:18).
Many fail to develop their faith because they do so little for God. They live selfishly. Just as work is important to our physical well-being, it is also necessary for our spiritual well-being.
Developing Greater Faith With Your Feet-Go.
"For we walk by faith..." (2 Cor. 5:7).
People are on the go—taking vacations, seeking pleasure far and near. We use our faith by going for God—attending church, helping the needy, and winning souls to Him.
Developing Greater Faith With Your Heart-Love.
"Beloved, let us love one another" ( 1 John 4:7).
We live in a materialistic age. Many love pleasures and possessions more than God and their neighbor. We reveal our faith by loving God and caring for others. (Mt 22:37–40).
37 Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
