p.l Revelation frequently makes use of the Old Testament
Readers need to be in the habit of looking up cross—References
p. 2 No direct quotes (word for word) from the OT but there are links back to both the Septuagint and the Masoretic Text
p. 3 How does the book use the OT? Example John uses content from Daniel 2 and 7 to create content for Revelation 13 and 17 (ie for the beast of the Sea) This example is called Literary Prototype
p. 3-4 Sometimes John want to develop and important theme or topic like the Divine Warrior, Earthly Cataclysmic language (earthquakes), frightening celestial events (eclipses and hail) drawn from OT “Day Of The Lord” passages
