My name is Earlene McNair. I am 69 years old. And, I am an only child. My father was in World War II. When he came out, he worked for the US Post Office. My mother went to Elizabeth City College and became a teacher. I have a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas and a Master’s degree from University of North Carolina—Chapel Hill in Nutrition. I worked 30 years in Virginia, retired, and moved to North Carolina. I have 2 children, a daughter 37, and a son 32. They are not married and they have no children.

My father’s grandmother, my great grandmother was a slave. So, I am 4 generations from slavery. If my father were alive, he would be 106 years old. My father’s mother, my grandmother, was a prayer warrior. If my mother lived, she would be 105 years old. My mother’s father, my grandfather, was a prayer warrior. So, I automatically became a person who prays. Absolutely Not.
