It’s Going to Happen

Intro

Ezekiel 12:21–28 (AMP)

21 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

22 Son of man, what is this proverb that you have in the land of Israel, saying, The days drag on and every vision comes to nothing and is not fulfilled?

23 Tell them therefore, Thus says the Lord God: I will put an end to this proverb, and they shall use it no more as a proverb in Israel. But say to them, The days are at hand and the fulfillment of every vision.

24 For there shall be no more any false, empty, and fruitless vision or flattering divination in the house of Israel.

25 For I am the Lord; I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall be performed (come to pass); it shall be no more delayed or prolonged, for in your days, O rebellious house, I will speak the word and will perform it, says the Lord God.

26 Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

27 Son of man, behold, they of the house of Israel say, The vision that [Ezekiel] sees is for many days to come, and he prophesies of the times that are far off.

28 Therefore say to them, Thus says the Lord God: There shall none of My words be deferred any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be performed, says the Lord God.

God has uniquely burdened my heart for this message that I’m about to bring today. This message is a message that I have had to live through and am living through. This message is almost as if God jumped me in and out of different rooms and different conversations!! It’s almost like I could feel the secret wars that are being waged in the spirit!! It’s been questions, things such as: When is it going happen, How will it come to pass, Where are you right now in my situation.

Think it not strange that for the past 6 to 8 months for some of us have seemed like the most warfare we have ever gone through in our lives. But God has a message for us, to strengthen that which remains, empower us and to get us to continue to push through. My Title Today is It’s Going to Happen!!

Turn to your neighbor and say It’s going to happen.

Put your hand on your heart and say It’s going to happen.

Background

Now I would be a good student of the Bible and or good teacher of the Bible if I don’t catch you up to where we are in our conversation. Our writer of our text is Ezekiel. Ezekiel is considered to be on of the major prophets in the old Testament, it’s not by the words that he said but by the length of his writings. Now Ezekiel was a priest in the land of Judah. Now the Southern Kingdom of Judah was the last of the children of Isreal to be exiled. As a matter of Fact the Northern Kingdom of Isreal was exiled 135 years before Judah was. Ezekiel was among the the exiles in the land of Judah when they went to Babylon. Now he was a priest in the Lord’s temple but also a resident alien in a land not called his home. At the age of 30 God began to deal with him. It says that while he was with the exiles by the Chebar Canal the Heavens opened. Imagine being in a foreign land among people that look just like you, believe like you do, and is going through the same struggle that you are going through but you are the only one aware of what is happening in the heavens. This isn’t one of my point but as I was writing I felt encouraged. So let me encourage you. God is about to place this church and it’s people in a place is unfamiliar but is full of people that look like us, saved like us and are going through the same things but God is going to look upon us and say I can trust you all with the secrets of heaven. God is about to wake us up like he did with Zechariah. All God’s people that believe that. Shout Hallelujah!!

But the word of the Lord came to Ezekiel; and he peered into heaven and saw a wheel in a middle of another wheel with creatures that moved when the wheel moved to and fro. This was under the throne of God which symbolizes the omnipresence of God. God communicate with him there and commits him to his rebellious children the House of Isreal. God then gave him a scroll and told hime to eat it and when he first ate it, it was sweet as honey., but when God began to tell Ezekiel what his ministry would be like and how his call would be to call out the sin of the people and to speak what the Lord has to say to his people. The scroll that once was sweet and now become bitter. Here’s another tidbit about walking with God. God is about to change the appetite for the word of God for us. The word of God comes in sweet but as we allow it to digest in our bodies and allow it to do what it needs to do for our spirit, it will turn bitter. Why because we are learning detest the things that he hates and learning how to kill those things that will keep his word from upsetting our spiritual stomachs. Ezekiel has to sit and wrestle with that word he received. God had to stick his tongue to the roof of his mouth to keep from speaking.

After this unique encounter with God! God begins to deal with Ezekiel like most of the prophets of old in a dramatized way. Ezekiel was doing what God has told him to do and said what God told him to say!!

But God heard somethings mumbling and the grumblings of the people. Now here we are at our text!! God tells Ezekiel what is this proverbs, or this saying that the people have going on. They been saying this “ The days are long, and every vision fails. Basically saying I’ll believe it when I see it!!

God tell Ezekiel to tell them that I’m putting it to rest!! God is saying this same things to us right now. Common saying are not always true sayings!! They might be common in the world but when they have to be examined by the word of God, they don’t pass the test. God is saying we got to put this stuff to rest. I was thinking of some of the common things that we say in the church that do not add up to scripture.

God wants me to be happy!!

2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

God knows my heart!!

Proverbs 16:1–3 (AMP)

1 THE PLANS of the mind and orderly thinking belong to man, but from the Lord comes the [wise] answer of the tongue.

2 All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirits (the thoughts and intents of the heart).

3 Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.

Jeremiah 17:9 (AMP)

9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly perverse and corrupt and severely, mortally sick! Who can know it [perceive, understand, be acquainted with his own heart and mind]?

Some of the things we say are half truths and don’t stand up in the eyesight of God. Just like the children of Isreal. They heard prophets, from Isaiah, Joel, Hosea, Jeremiah. But they prophesied things in the future but they never came to pass in my lifetime. Some of us, even myself included have seemingly resigned to ourselves; almost as if we are saying “if it don’t happen good and if he does it fine. It almost as if the entire Christian community is at a crossroad in our lives between belief and unbelief. God is saying I’m putting it to rest now. It’s about to happen!! It’s going to happen because of three key things!!

“There will be renewed vision”

God tells the man of God this

In the B clause of verse 23, The days are approaching and the fulfilment of every vision, there will no longer be any false vision or deceptive divination in the house of Isreal. I want you to know that God is going to do the same in his body. There is about to be renewed vision in the body of Christ. This vision will come from the heart of God. But we first have to know the heart of God. God’s heart always aligned with his word. If we want renewed vision we need to get back into the word of God. The problem with the children of Isreal, even while they were in exile they were looking for a word from God so bad they were listening to prophet and preachers that did not hear from God. They were crying out peace when there was no peace, Jeremiah said it like this they lied for the sake of the people. They listened to the people instead of listening to God.

If we go by how we feel and not by what God says we will be like Paul misrepresenting God on the road to Go and kill people on behalf of God that we no longer believe in. Because we think that how we feel is right, but the question is does it fully line up with the word of God.

If we don’ t have renewed vision then we will forever look at the things in our life as bad when actually God is doing it for us! We need new vision, We need God to take the scales off of our eyes so that we can see him more clearly. So that even in the midst of a storm we can see him in the middle of it.

Because if we are not careful, we have something in our mind and our hearts; and we get so fixed on that thing that it takes us away from where God wants us to be. We not only need to see well but we need to perceive well. If we allow out spiritual and natural eyes be the lamp of our body as Matthew 6:22 says then we will be able to see things clearly. We don’t have eyes to see and know that God is at work! He is at work in everything in our lives. It’s Going to happen we just need Renewed Vision.

2 Kings 6:16–17 (NKJV)

16 So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17 And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Sombody say I need eyes to see

There will be no more delay

When I got to this point, I read it as a Hallelujah moment. But as I continued studying and reading and praying, this became a sobering moment for me! God has a special message for us about some of the things we want for him to do for us. God says No, I haven’t forgotten about you; I have seen your labor of love and your contending of the faith. But I want you to know this; that I’m making the way sure for you so there will be no hinderances for you!! Some of us have felt as if God you been slow concerning my issues and my problems. This is what the children of Isreal felt. They felt as if Lord you need to punish those who are doing these things to us and hurt them and bring us out of this captivity. There are times when we are in the middle of a situation, we only see with a veiled view!! When we are in the middle of a situation, we can’t see how the retribution is going to come and the blessing is going to come. The Children of Isreal felt the same, they heard from multiple prophets and leaders to repent and turn back to God then God would relent his judgement. Let me let you in on a little secret. Sometimes when people see no divine judgement or blessing on the way, sometimes we think all is well or God didn’t hear our prayer!! Some think that God is silent or the judgement didn’t happen. They think we are crazy for preaching the same things over and over again and still believing what they can’t see. But the fact that God doesn’t immediately punish us for our sins, doesn’t mean he takes no notice of them or isn’t offended by them!! The reason why judgement is delayed is so that God can give them time to repent, and put there faith in Jesus.

But for some of us in the building we aren’t waiting on judgement, we have been praying and praying for a miracle and for blessings and for an answer to come but because we couldn’t see. We have borderline moved from belief to unbelief. Same way as God is offended by our blantant sins his more offended by our unbelief. We have to know and understand this anything that God says, it must fully develop. God is not slack concerning his people!! There is coming a day that when there will be no question as to when God is coming back or when he is going to change our lives for the better. But we have to make a choice between belief and unbelief. We might as to pray the prayer as the father in Mark 9:24

Mark 9:24 AMP

24 At once the father of the boy gave [an eager, piercing, inarticulate] cry with tears, and he said, Lord, I believe! [Constantly] help my weakness of faith!

God is not Going to delay in what he is about to do for you!!

God is not going to forget about you!!

We just can’t forget about him. We can’t lose sight and lose belief in God.

He will perform it!!!

God’s last few words to Ezekiel in this text is. Ezekiel 12:28

28 Therefore say to them, Thus says the Lord God: There shall none of My words be deferred any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be performed, says the Lord God.

If you need any further hope from this message; take hold to this last point. God says that He will perform it. Some of us in this room, are living proof of God’s promise of healings being made manifest in your life. I can think of a few in this building, Minister Wanda, Sister Janice, Minister Riley, Mother Willis, Elder Simmions. The Bible Says in Psalms 18:30-32

Psalm 18:30–32 (NASB 2020)

30 As for God, His way is blameless;

The word of the Lord is refined;

He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.

31 For who is God, but the Lord?

And who is a rock, except our God,

32 The God who encircles me with strength,

And makes my way blameless?

Let your heart be made sure, that God will do just what he said. We just have to trust him!!

He is faithful to perform it.

We have to look our situations in the face and say as

Psalm 20:6–9 AMP

6 Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand. 7 Some trust in and boast of chariots and some of horses, but we will trust in and boast of the name of the Lord our God. 8 They are bowed down and fallen, but we are risen and stand upright. 9 O Lord, give victory; let the King answer us when we call.

We will be the people that will praise God praise God for what he is going to do!!

We just Trust him and Believe him

God is faithful to perform it.

God is not a man that he should lie, nor the son of man that he should repent. If he said it, will he not do it.

Those that trust God, We should lift our voice and say Yes he will.

Closing

So no matter where you are in this message.

I have come to challenge where you are in your faith level. Time is out for half-hearted belief in God. He said today that he is not going to delay. God is coming soon. Some of us need to make our peace with God; Where we felt like he said no when he should have said yes. Or maybe he didn’t answer in our time table. Some people have felt as if they are hurting God by not doing what he has asked of us.But we are hurting ourselves. We have to Trust and Believe again. We have to Let Go and trust again.

Allow God today to renew the God like vision in you

Start to remind yourself that he won’t delay. Ask God to challenge where you are in your faith!!

Maybe it’s you and you need to come down to the altar and let God of everything that you are holding on to
