1 Peter 3:18–22 “For Christ also suffered for sins once for all time, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit; in which He also went and made proclamation to the spirits in prison, who once were disobedient when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water. Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you—not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience—through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, after angels and authorities and powers had been subjected to Him.”
Acts 4:12 “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among mankind by which we must be saved.””
John 10:9 “I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.”
John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.”
What would you do if you saw something wrong happen?
How would you feel if someone killed something you loved?
How would you feel if someone broke your leg… and they went to the judge.. and the judge just let them go?
God is the perfect judge. He will give everyone what they deserve. But just because He is a judge does not mean He isn’t merciful.
During a time in history God looked at humanity and saw how evil they were. They were violent and killing each other. They loved to do evil things. They did not want to do good things. And God decided to execute justice and judge the human race.
But God was merciful to one person. He saw Noah. Was Noah a perfect man? Was his children perfect? But Noah walked with God. v9. So God protected Noah.
God told Noah to enter the ark and to be saved from the flood. That is God’s grace! He is saving Noah.
But God is going to judge the whole world again. But just like last time, He made another ark. And he is telling everyone to get into this ark. Someone people want to get on, some people don’t. The ark is the cross. The ark is what Jesus did for you. If you put your trust in Jesus, He will protect you! You are safe!
There is only one ark!
In this ark. You are protected and warm. It is a safe place.
Do you have to be perfect to enter this ark? NO!
When you enter this ark, you will go to a new place and become a brand new person. That is why we obey Jesus!
Let’s pray.
