Story
The materialist and the atheist, those who would deny God, believe that at death, all is over. Life is finished, it is done and complete; we are dust, mere food for worms. To these people, pain has no meaning other than what it is: pure suffering, without any redeeming purpose.
Christians, on the other hand, believe that these years on earth, while important and to be used wisely and to be enjoyed, are preparation for a far greater life to come. THIS LIFE IS NOT OUR OWN
Pain awakens us to God!
As to the specific issue of pain and suffering, C. S. Lewis, who watched his beloved wife die of cancer, put it this way: "But pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: it is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world." God's plan is for us to return to him, and to lead the best possible life on earth; sometimes we need to be reminded of our purpose. Pain is a sharp, clear tool to achieve that purpose. A needle may be necessary to prevent disease or infection; nobody welcomes or enjoys the injection, but it prevents a far greater suffering, just as what may seem like even intolerable pain now will lead to far greater happiness later.
The first mentions of the Spirit of God we see is in the Old testament
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
The earth was without form. Another translations states that it was a formless void.
“It was in confusions and emptiness. “
And God said let there be light and there was light.
We see this even in the beginning, that when something is in need of fixing the spirit of God is moved.
The Spirit of God desire to bring light to anything that is without form.
Anything that is empty.
We see here that there first thing that God provides is light to this formless, void and empty world.
And He does it by His word.
Ten commandments

The ten commandments were not all that God Gave to Israel. They were supplied with a plan whereby they could be restored to the Good graces of God.
They would bring a lamb.
They would then confess their sin
The would step back and the lam was carried forward to die in their place.
Because were there was sin, there would have to be death.
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
This experience taught them to place more hope in the sacrifice of the lamb than in the law they could not keep.
This was all pointing to Jesus being the ultimate Sacrificial lamb.
Isaiah prophesied about Jesus stating that the Spirit of the Lord would rest upon Him.
1 Then a shoot will grow from the stump of Jesse,
and a branch from his roots will bear fruit.
2 The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—
a Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
a Spirit of counsel and strength,
a Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.
Jeremiahs speaks of a day where God would put his law/Word in us,
Jeremiah 31:31-33 KJV
31-Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
[32] Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
[33] But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Israel broke the covenant/promise they had and So God says here that He will not make that same covenant again as He did with their Fathers,
But He would make a New covenant/ A new Promise with His people one that was born because of the brokenness of the Old Covenant.
It is a covenant made of brokenness for the broken.
This New promise/ convenant/ contract that He makes with you,
And its for all that have fallen
All that are broken
All that have sinned
all who have failed
All who don’t deserve it
All who lost Hope.
He still finds a way to make a covenant with you.
To build a relationship together.
To love you!
He is committed to you!
Ezekiel 36:11 KJV
And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
God desires better things for us!
And He gives us everything we Need to keep that Covenant

I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My ordinances and do them. [28] You will live in the land that I gave to your fathers; and you will be My people, and I will be your God. [29] I will also save you from all your uncleanness, and I will call for the grain and make it abundant, and I will not bring famine on you.

The word “Ru-ache” used in the bible is the same Greek word for Spirit, Wind, and Breathe.
It was God’s breathed that created you and I in the book of Genesis.
The Spirit of God is a Spiritual Breathe of Life.
Wind also comes from the Same greek word for Spirit of God.
Verse 8. is stating how being born of the Spirit works.
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

10 They all paid attention to him, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is the power of God that is called Great.”
11 And they paid attention to him because for a long time he had amazed them with his magic.
12 But when they believed Philip as he preached good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
13 Even Simon himself believed, and after being baptized he continued with Philip. And seeing signs and great miracles performed, he was amazed.
14 Now when the apostles at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John,
15 who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit,
16 for he had not yet fallen on any of them, but they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
17 Then they laid their hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit.
18 Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money,
19 saying, “Give me this power also, so that anyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”
44 While Peter was still saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word.
45 And the believers from among the circumcised who had come with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out even on the Gentiles.
46 For they were hearing them speaking in tongues and extolling God. Then Peter declared,
47 “Can anyone withhold water for baptizing these people, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?”
48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to remain for some days.
1 And it happened that while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul passed through the inland country and came to Ephesus. There he found some disciples.
2 And he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”
3 And he said, “Into what then were you baptized?” They said, “Into John’s baptism.”
4 And Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, Jesus.”
5 On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 And when Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking in tongues and prophesying.

The Holy Ghost brings Righteousness, peace, and Joy.
17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
The Holy Spirit reminds us we are the children of God
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
The Holy Spirit Intercedes on our behalf
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
19 Do not quench the Spirit.
Holy Ghost Power
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
You prevent a quench of the Spirit by always giving thanks.
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
19 Quench not the Spirit.

It is to no surprise that one of the two times the Holy Spirit is mention in the Old Testament is In Psalms 51:10-11
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God;
And renew a right spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from thy presence;
And take not thy holy spirit from me.
Here David is asking God to forgive Him and to provide him a clean heart.
He understood that the Holy Spirit is what would be the agent to achieve a clean heart and a right spirit in His.
The same root word for Spirit of God “Ruach” also can be Wind, Breathe.
In the book of Exodus we see that God saved a group named the israelites who were enslaved by the egyptians and sent the wind to splite the sea and allow the israelites to pass through the sea and elude pharaoh and his army.

And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
