1 Corinthians 12:4–6 ESV
4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; 5 and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; 6 and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone.

Purpose of the Gifts

Ephesians 4:12 ESV
12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,

Using the Gifts

1 Peter 4:10 ESV
10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace:
2 Timothy 1:6–7 ESV
6 For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, 7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
1 Corinthians 13:1–3 ESV
1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Apostleship

1 Corinthians 12:28 ; Ephesians 4:11
The gift of apostleship today is to plant new ministries and churches, go into places where the Gospel is not preached, reach across cultures to establish churches in challenging environments, raise up and develop leaders, call out and lead pastors and shepherds, and much more.

Prophecy

Romans 12:6-8 ; 1 Corinthians 12:7-10 ; 1 Corinthians 12:28 ; Ephesians 4:11
Declaring the word of the lord as it pertains to current or future happenings.

Evangelism

Ephesians 4:11
The ability to effectively share the gospel of Jesus christ.

Discernment

1 Corinthians 12:7-10
The ability to distinguish between good and evil “spirits”. Is it of God or not. What type of spirit is operating?

Word of Wisdom/ knowledge

1 Corinthians 12:7-10
The ability to share Godly wisdom. Sometimes God will lay a specific word on your heart to share with a person.

Teaching/Shepherding

Romans 12:6-8 ; 1 Corinthians 12:28 ; Ephesians 4:11
The ability to instruct and train people in the word of God for their spiritual growth and development.

Exhorting (Encouraging)

Romans 12:6-8
The ability to encourage people using the word of God.

Miracles/Healing

1 Corinthians 12:7-10 ; 1 Corinthians 12:28
Ability to perform miraculous acts including healing in accordance to God’s divine power and direction.

Service/Helps

The desire and ability to work to help others

Leading/Administrating

Guiding people towards God’s purpose and plan with the skills required to accomplish the tasks and equip others to accomplish those tasks.

Tongues/and interpretation

1 Corinthians 12:7-10 ; 1 Corinthians 12:28
Praying in tongues, Speaking another language in order to preach the gospel, Giving and translating a message from God within the gathering of the church body.

Giving

Romans 12:6-8
The means and ability to give to others and the church.

Faith

1 Corinthians 12:7-10
Faith for a specific task. Beyond the faith that leads us to salvation.

Mercy

Romans 12:6-8
The ability to minister to someone who is hurting or in need.
