About 12 years ago I started to ponder the possibility that maybe the Antichrist would come through the Muslim nation. This was not a thought I had heard any prophecy scholar ponder at that time.
I mentioned this before, but they are waiting for the prophesied coming 12th Imam to return.
Occultation in Shia Islam refers to the eschatological belief that the Mahdi (the rightly guided one), a descendant of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, through Ali has already been born and he was subsequently concealed, but he will reemerge and he will establish justice and peace on earth at the end of time. He will reestablish Islamic law and rid the world of bid'a (basically beliefs counter to Islam’s teachings - heterodoxy).
The signs of his (re)appearance are largely common in Shia and Sunni...his absence continues until initial conditions are met for his reappearance, including humankind's readiness for the message of the Hidden Imam...his “hiding” would continue until God granted him permission to manifest himself again in a time when the earth would be filled with tyranny.
Jesus will make a second coming, descending to earth, but unlike in Christianity it will be to assist the Mahdi by killing the dajjal (deceitful Messiah - false prophet - their equivalent to our antichrist) "break[ing] the cross, kill[ing] the pigs, abolish[ing] the Jizya tax", and establishing peace.
Jesus and the Mahdi will then rule the earth in perfect justice for a time before Judgment Day.
breaking the cross - putting an end to Christian’s misconceptions that Jesus is the Son of God.
By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world.
Killing a pig - it is what Antiochus IV did on the temple altar (as well as set up a statue of Zeus in the temple).

Establishing peace.
For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. While they are saying, “Peace and safety!” then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape.
Abolishing the Jizya tax - tax on non-Muslim’s. Implying that the tax is no longer needed because all are Muslim. All have committed to follow Allah
Revelation 13:15–17 “And it was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast would even speak and cause as many as do not worship the image of the beast to be killed. And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, and he provides that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name.”
The Antichrist will honor a god whom his fathers did not know.
“Then the king will do as he pleases, and he will exalt and magnify himself above every god and will speak monstrous things against the God of gods; and he will prosper until the indignation is finished, for that which is decreed will be done. “He will show no regard for the gods of his fathers or for the desire of women, nor will he show regard for any other god; for he will magnify himself above them all.

“But instead he will honor a god of fortresses, a god whom his fathers did not know; he will honor him with gold, silver, costly stones and treasures. “He will take action against the strongest of fortresses with the help of a foreign god; he will give great honor to those who acknowledge him and will cause them to rule over the many, and will parcel out land for a price.
A god of fortresses - a god of war.
Islam is a militaristic religion.
Sharia law - peace through military might.
a god his fathers did not know.
At the time and perspective of the writing of Daniel - Islam was not in existance.
Foreign god.
My thought was, “What if the 7-year treaty has something to do with uniting Islam and Judaism?” What if it allows for the building of the temple right next to the Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount?” How crazy would that be? And then I find out about this Abrahamic Family Religion site.
