Introduction
Hello Dwell, this is Kenneth. Thanks for joining us for today's Dwell Kids Daily! Today is Sunday, November 24th.
For the next few minutes, I invite you to join me as we look to our Great King by opening our hearts to hear from Him through the words of the Bible.
Silence
As we begin, let us remember that God calls His people, young and old, to be still and know that He is God. Let's take a few seconds to clear our minds, so that we can hear him better.
Opening Prayer
Father, we rejoice that you have given us a new day to worship you. Today, give us a new song in our heart – a song of praise.
Passage
Today our passage is Psalm 95, verse 2:
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
Exhortation
Remember this: An attitude of gratitude brings great joy. Say it with me: An attitude of gratitude brings great joy.
I was taught this truth as a very young Christian and it has proved true over and over again.
Giving thanks to God is a high and joyous occasion. When we give him thanks we recognize how he has been good to us. It is easy to just say, “thank you, God” but when we come to him with thanksgiving we are getting more specific. Father, thank you for the ability to hear, and see, and taste your goodness; for songs, and sunrises, and sweet treats!
It brings joy into our hearts when we consider how God has been good to us. It brings joy into God’s heart when his people thank him for his goodness and kindness in our lives.
Our passage says that we should come into his presence with thanksgiving and praise. Even when we come with requests or sorrow, we should bring thanksgiving as well. God is always good and worthy of praise, and it is good for us to remember this and give him thanks.
An attitude of gratitude brings great joy!
Call to Action
Take a few seconds, right now, to thank God for his goodness in your life. Get specific, what are some ways that God has recently shown you kindness, think of those things and give him thanks.
Closing Prayer
Let’s pray together.
Father, thank you. Thank you for your word. Thank you for the technology that is allowing this recording to be heard by thousands of young ears. Thank you for giving me a voice, a voice that can declare your goodness and build up your people. I pray that we would all use our voices to make joyful sounds of praise and thanksgiving today! We come to you with an attitude of gratitude, in the power of the Spirit, and in the name of the Son, Jesus. Amen.
Outro
It's been great to be with you today.
Tomorrow, we'll be in the Luke chapter 22. Until then, go in peace, and let the word of King Jesus dwell in you richly.
