According to T A&M, carbon dating is only accurate for organisms that have been dead for thousands of years already

the counting of carbon or radio carbon atoms remaining in organic material

any fluctuation caused by environmental factors can cause a dramatic change in the carbon present to be counted

its a guesstimate at best made by people with strong inherent bias
